CHAPTER
EIGHT:
How Celebrating Halloween or Participating in Occult and Ungodly Activities Affects You
(even if you just do it just for fun or curiosity)

Peter 2:20-22 “For
if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of
the Lord and Saviour Yahushuwa the Messiah, they are again entangled therein,
and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. For it had
been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after
they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them. But
it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to
his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.”

Corinthians 4:14
Many modern-day believers are entangled in many pollutions of the world, though they received the power to escape these and became washed clean when they were born-again. They have returned to these pollutions after leaving the altar where they gave their lives to Yahushuwa, and they have been overcome by them. Again people have returned to forms of Baal worship and through this book I hope to destroy their temples and idols. 1 Thessalonians 5:14 “Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men.” Here the Bible instructs us to warn, comfort, support and be patient toward them.

Corinthians 6:19-20 “What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the
Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of Yahuwah, and ye are not your own?
For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify Yahuwah in your body, and in your
spirit, which are Yahuwah’s.”
A born-again
believer’s body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. It is our reasonable act of
worship to live right.
Romans
12:1-2
“I
beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of Yahuwah, that ye present
your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto Yahuwah, which is your
reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed
by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and
acceptable, and perfect, will of Yahuwah.”
As
I said earlier, when believers participate in any form of occult activity, they
open themselves for demonic attack. They open spiritual doors that demons can
enter through, and come into their lives to destroy them. Revelation
3:7-8 tells us that there are doors that can be opened or shut
according to whether we keep His Word:
“And
to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith he that is
holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no
man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth; I know thy works: behold, I
have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a
little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.”
This talks about
Yahushuwa setting before us an open door that man cannot shut, because we have
kept His Word and not denied His name. Keeping His word means obeying His
commandments or laws. His name is Yahushuwa, not Jesus – are you going o deny
His name and continue to call Him Jesus? Or will you call Him Yahushuwa from
this day forward? He doesn’t have an English name. His name is His name, and it
never changes, as He never changes. This door is open to blessings, not curses.
But what happens when one does not keep His Word or when one does deny His
name? First of all, if you deny His name you are not a true believer.
Matthew
10:32-33 “Whosoever
therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father
which is in heaven. But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny
before my Father which is in heaven.”
Now we do realize
that if someone doesn’t know His real name because the preachers all taught it
is Jesus and the Bibles say it is Jesus, and that person calls on Jesus,
Yahushuwa will receive him because he didn’t know any better and was truly
calling on the Son of God. But if you know better and call Him by another name
anyways, then you may be in trouble. I wouldn’t count on His mercy at that
point. Maybe He will have mercy on you even though you continue to call Him a
name that means 'hail zeus' and ‘earth pig’, but maybe He won’t. Either way, love and respect
Him enough to use His real name.
And
if you claim to be a Christian, but do not keep His Word (commandments/laws),
you may be deceiving yourself and not really know Him.

John 2:3-5
“And
hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. He that saith,
I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not
in him. But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of Yahuwah perfected:
hereby know we that we are in him.”
When
you do not keep His Word, and live the way you choose to instead of the way He
wants you to, you separate yourself from Yahuwah. Proverbs 14:12 “There
is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of
death.” This death is separation from Yahuwah. It comes from rebellion. When
Adam rebelled against Yahuwah in the Garden of Eden he was cast out from
Yahuwah’s presence. Yahuwah had warned him that if he ate of the tree of
knowledge of good and evil he would die. He disobeyed Yahuwah. Disobedience and
rebellion go together.
Isaiah
1:19-20
“If
ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land: But if ye refuse
and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of Yahuwah hath
spoken it.”
His death was this
separation from Yahuwah. Yahuwah put him out of the beautiful garden and no
longer allowed him to eat of the good of that land. When Lucifer rebelled
against Yahuwah in Heaven and tried to exalt himself above Him, he was cast out
of Heaven. He was separated from Yahuwah.
Amos
3:3
says
“Can two walk together, except they be agreed?” If you are not in agreement
with Yahuwah and with His Word then you are not walking with Yahuwah. If you
are not walking with Yahuwah, but instead are walking in disagreement,
rebellion or disobedience, you are separated from Him. If you are separated
from Him, there is a gap between you and Him, and you are not under His
protection. This gap is the open door that satan uses to attack you through. It
is the hole in your armor.
Ephesians
6:11 says
to put on the WHOLE armor of Yahuwah so you can be strong and stand against the
wiles of the devil. If you have on the WHOLE armor, you will not have HOLES in
your armor! If you miss parts of it then the devil has places he can get to you
through.
Ephesians
6:10-18
“Finally,
my brethren, be strong in Yahushuwa, and in the power of his might. Put on the
whole armour of Yahuwah, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the
devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities,
against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against
spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour
of Yahuwah, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done
all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and
having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the
preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith,
wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And
take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of
Yahuwah: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and
watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints.”
You need the truth,
righteousness, peace, faith, salvation, the Word of Yahuwah, to pray in the
Spirit and to watch with perseverance. All of this comes through reading,
believing, obeying and trusting the Word of Yahuwah. If you refuse to walk
according to His Word, you are refusing to walk with Him.
Joshua
1:8
“This
book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate
therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is
written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou
shalt have good success.”
The book of the law
is the Word of Yahuwah. Romans 7:12 “Wherefore the law is holy,
and the commandment holy, and just, and good.” Yahuwah’s words are still holy,
just and good. We are successful in life when we live Yahuwah’s way, and He
tells us how to live His way throughout the Bible. When we walk with Him we are
under His protection and under no condemnation. Romans 8:1 “There
is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Messiah Yahushuwa,
who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.”
Do you want a gap in your hedge of protection, that the devil can get in? If you do, just keep one foot in the world’s system and one in Yahuwah’s system. You do not have to commit totally to Yahuwah if you do not want to, but Yahuwah wants total commitment from you. He wants you to give Him one-hundred-percent of your life. The rich young ruler in Mark 10 went away sad, without Yahushuwa, because he did not want to commit all of his life to Yahushuwa. He only wanted to give part of his life to Him. Yahushuwa would not accept that.
Matthew
6:24
says
“No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the
other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve
Yahuwah and mammon.”
If
Yahuwah is your master then everything you own is His and you will willingly
give up anything He tells you to. He does not even want you to have a tiny gap
in your armor. Many believers hang on to ungodly things that they do not want
to give up, such as their favorite soap opera or worldly magazine, spending
Saturday Sabbaths in front of the television or at the ball game instead of
devoting the day to Yahushuwa, cleaning their homes on the Sabbath when they
are not supposed to do any work, etc., etc., etc. They will tell Yahuwah,
“You can have
everything in my life, except THAT!” Yahuwah wants it all! He wants you to
commit totally to Him and clean out of your life all of the ungodly things that
can harm you and separate you from Him. He wants this because He loves you so
much and knows what is best for you. Remember the show Father Knows Best?
Your Heavenly Father really does know what is best,
and if you submit to Him He will lead you to success, joy, peace, happiness and
all the good things you need in your life.
If you have a gap in your armor, a separation from Yahuwah, the devil can get in and get a foothold. Ephesians 4:27 in the Amplified Bible says “Leave no (such) room or foothold for the devil - give no opportunity to him.”
When we give the devil a foothold, a hole in our armor, he sticks his foot in this open door and holds it open. He pries it open farther and he invites other demons in as well. When demons get inside you they can give you diseases such as cancer, emotional problems and of course spiritual problems. Your body is the temple or home of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit does not want a demon to live in His home with him. If you want to stay full of the Holy Spirit you must get rid of the dirty stuff. The Holy Spirit likes a clean house. If you allow demons to live in your temple, the Holy Spirit may leave.
If you submit to Yahuwah and resist the demons, the Holy Spirit will honor your devotion and obedience and chase the demons out.
He will drive the uncleanliness from the temple, your body, as Yahushuwa drove out the money changers from the temple in Matthew 21. He was angry about the ungodly activities going on in His temple! Do not invite them back. What fellowship does light have with darkness? NONE! Do not participate in the unfruitful works of darkness, but expose them. Ephesians 5:11 “Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them.”
These
verses in Deuteronomy tell us the benefits we receive when we submit to
Yahuwah, and the consequences when we rebel against Yahuwah:
Deuteronomy
28:2-6
“And
all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt
hearken unto the voice of Yahuwah thy God. Blessed shalt thou be in the city,
and blessed shalt thou be in the field. Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body,
and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy cattle, the increase of thy
kine, and the flocks of thy sheep. Blessed shall be thy basket and thy store.
Blessed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and blessed shalt thou be when thou
goest out.”
The verses go on. Then
in Deuteronomy 28:15-19 it says:
“But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of Yahuwah thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee: Cursed shalt thou be in the city, and cursed shalt thou be in the field. Cursed shall be thy basket and thy store. Cursed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy land, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep. Cursed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and cursed shalt thou be when thou goest out.”
Psalms
34:15-16
“The
eyes of Yahuwah are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry.
The face of Yahuwah is against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of
them from the earth.”
This is a principle
that still stands even in these New Testament days.

Peter 3:11-12
“Let
him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it. For the eyes of
Yahuwah are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but
the face of Yahuwah is against them that do evil.”
When people play
around with the occult they get cursed. Demons attack them because they have
the legal right to. Yahuwah allows them to because the people are in rebellion
against Yahuwah and living in sin instead of living for Him.
Romans 1:21-26 “Because that, when they knew Yahuwah, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. Therefore Yahuwah also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: Who changed the truth of Yahuwah into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. For this cause Yahuwah gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature.”
This verse talks about people who believed their own ways were right and went against Yahuwah’s ways. They did not worship or appreciate Yahuwah, but worshiped manmade idols. Yahuwah gave these people up to their own lusts because they were in rebellion. They worshiped demons through the birds, beasts and creeping things. Demons inhabited the statues of these things. The Buddah statue above is an idol that will bring demons into a home. Don't even have one in your garden. They controlled the people and made their lust for sin even stronger. These particular people were homosexuals, bisexuals and sexual perverts. That was the prominent lust of their flesh.
Ephesians
6:12
talks
about the four divisions of forces of demons: “For we wrestle not against flesh
and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of
the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” Most
of our battles are not against our fellow man, but are against these wicked
spirits. The lowest in rank are the principalities, next are the powers, then
the rulers of darkness, and the highest are spiritual wickedness in high
places. This is an organized spiritual army that we battle. That is why we need
our spiritual armor on. The lower class demons do what the higher ones tell
them to, with satan in charge of them all.
Rulers of darkness seek embodiment in man. Their second choice is an animal. They need a living body to find their fullest expression in the physical world, since they are spirits. The Son of Sam had a demon possessed dog that told him to murder people. I am sure that the man had demons also. These demons expressed their lust for murder through the bodies of the man and his dog. Demons will also hide in inanimate objects, preferably occult related because these are familiar territory. They will move into a person as soon as they can.
Born-again believers often yield to the powers of darkness without realizing it, and let the spirits dominate them. They then do things and do not seem to know why. A normal, sane man with a good family, job and home, suddenly had an uncontrollable urge to drown his four-year-old son in the bathtub, and he did. He said a voice told him to do that. The voice was a demon who had gained entrance into his life because a spiritual door was open to the enemy. He was stupid enough to obey the demon. He could have refused!
Demons
have personalities and they like to enter people who have their particular
appetite or nature. They find people with weaknesses that they specialize in.
Some like certain things more than others.
A
demon that specializes in sexual perversions and lust will seek to enter a
person who struggles with their flesh in the area of lust. A man who looks at a
seductive woman and enjoys it is struggling with lust. A demon of lust may
attach itself to the man because he has opened the door by giving in to his
weakness. A demon that specializes in violence or murder seeks to enter a
person who struggles with anger or a bad temper. Ted Bundy was deeply involved
in pornography and ended up raping and murdering women. He had given in to a
weakness in lust and in anger. A spirit specializing in gluttony seeks a person
who loves food more than he should.
These spirits hide in the structure of the person and identify with their personality so that it seems like they are becoming more controlled by their fleshly desires, when really a demon has entered and caused their desires to become uncontrollable. Because they blend so well with the personality most people do not realize they are there, and that is one reason they are called ‘familiar spirits’. They are familiar to the person. Because these people have entertained their fleshly desires satan has a legal right to enter and oppress them if do not repent.
You
may be wondering what I mean by ‘fleshly desires or lusts’. These are our own
ungodly desires. We may lust for sex because it ‘feels good’, for money because
we want more ‘things’, for power because it makes us feel important, or for
revenge because our anger ‘feels good’. These lusts come from our own ungodly
nature, not from demons. We are not born with a godly, righteous nature. We
acquired this sin nature from Adam and Eve, our great, great,.......
grandparents, who committed the first sin in the garden of Eden when they
rebelled against Yahuwah and ate of the forbidden tree. Romans 5:12 “Wherefore,
as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed
upon all men, for that all have sinned.” We are born with the desire to sin,
and only through submitting ourselves to Yahushuwa can we conquer our sin
nature.
Romans 5:17&19 “For if by one man’s offense death reigned by one; much morethey which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Yahushuwa the Messiah.) For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.”
The sin nature or
lusts of the flesh manifest into works of the flesh if we do not conquer them.
These are listed in Galatians.
Galatians 5:19-21 “Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of Yahuwah.”
The works of the
flesh are like rotten fruit. You can put garbage into your mind (or in front of
your eyes), or you can fill it with pure input. What you put in will produce
similar fruit in your life. Do you want godly fruit (love, joy, peace...) or do
you want rotten fruit (adultery, fornication, uncleanness...)? Rotten fruit
stinks and makes people sick, good fruit nourishes and heals. Galatians
5:22-25 continues to say:
“But
the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness,
faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And they that are
Yahushuwa’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live
in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.”
We can overpower the
weakness of our flesh by walking in the Holy Spirit, as in:
Galatians 5:16 “This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.” We can kill those ungodly lusts.
Galatians 5:24 “And they that are Yahushuwa’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.”
Jessie Penn said:
“This
is judicially the position of all the children of God, but it must be
experimental also. For in this spiritual battle, unless the knife is applied to
what the scriptures term the ‘flesh,’ it will always be ground for the enemy to
attack, so as to weaken us in the conflict. The ‘flesh’ must be kept under the
knife of the cross, for if there is any self-indulgence, or anything that is
doubtful in your life, and you venture to take the aggressive against the foe,
the enemy will come back on you, and - fastening on that uncrucified ‘ground’
in you - will press you with appalling power. You must have the knife of the
cross steadily, persistently, and unbrokenly applied to the flesh; to the
appetites of the flesh, to self-indulgence in any form, and to the pride of the
flesh.”117
Pastor
Blumhardt said that once demons get a foothold in someone’s life a landslide
begins. He says the petty thief turns into a holdup man and then a killer. The
marijuana user turns to heroin. Likewise the one who dabbles in spiritism
becomes more possessed by demons and the idolater, step by step, often ends up
practicing magic and then black magic. Idolatry first affects a person by
binding him to a sinister demonic power. This demon gains entrance through an
act of idolatry. Then the person develops spiritual, mental and physical
problems because of the demons present in their lives. People are not immune to
the infestation of demons just because they are ‘Christians’. They are only
immune to them if they are true believers who are submitted to Yahuwah and
resisting the devil. People who commit idolatry, which means devoting
themselves to something else instead of Yahuwah, are not submitted to Yahuwah,
but are resisting Him instead of the devil! They can become oppressed by
demons. If they continue to allow the demons to remain, they can eventually
become possessed by them, but most people suffer oppression and not possession.
Oppression is very serious and can destroy people.
Symptoms
of demonic oppression and possession are:
SPIRITUAL: People
lose their sensitivity to Yahuwah’s Word; become indifferent to sin and
apathetic about the ungodly things going on in their own community; follow
their emotions instead of the Holy Spirit; are sometimes unable to accept
Yahushuwa the Messiah as Savior if not already born-again; lose interest in
things of Yahuwah; are unable to develop a deep relationship with Yahushuwa;
are not interested in going to church; are bored when they read the Bible; fall
asleep every time they try to read the Bible; do not trust the Bible or godly
ministers or Yahuwah; are unable to receive the Baptism of the Holy Spirit and
speak in tongues; are unable to increase their prayer language when they speak
in tongues (speak the same few words over and over); are obsessed with the
belief that they committed the unpardonable sin.
EMOTIONAL: Become
habitually gloomy or depressed, manic-depressive, masochistic, sadistic; have
gross indulgences like lust and perversions; are extremely angry, fearful,
prideful, lazy, irritable, sensitive, impatient, or timid; are full of
self-pity; are self-absorbed; seek attention; hold unforgiveness; have
nightmares, phobias, unexplained sorrow, high temper, inability to concentrate
or think; practice compulsive lying, deception, arson, kleptomania, hand
washing; rebel at attempts of deliverance; are indifferent to warnings about
participating in the occult or not living godly lives.
PHYSICAL: Have
nervous disorders, cramps, cancer, arthritis, high blood pressure, ulcers,
bed-wetting, unexplained pain, morbid countenance, glassy eyes, hysterical
laughter, unusually loud voice, restlessness, uneasiness, incoherent speech,
frequent deep sighing, drug or alcohol addiction, gluttony, anorexia, or
hypochondria.
SUPERNATURAL: See visions (sometimes called hallucinations) of spiritual beings that are not from Yahuwah; hear disembodied voices that are not from Yahuwah, or strange noises, knocking, rapping, groaning, weeping, or rattling of chains; see objects moved by unseen forces; hear pianos played or doorbells rung by invisible hands; experience doors open and close, lights turn on and off, covers pulled off by unseen hands; are attacked physically by spirit beings; when near Yahuwah’s power they may foam at the mouth, scream, curse, have seizures or be pulled across floor by invisible force; or become psychic.
FAMILY AND SOCIAL: Marital discord, family trouble, divorce, church division, business problems, neighborhood disputes; become extremely talkative, argumentative, irresponsible, unpredictable, undependable, compulsive gamblers, trapped in poverty; dress seductively; are promiscuous.
Following are many examples of how people were affected when they participated in occult activities. The first one is when Saul went to a medium to seek counsel, and the results of his rebellion against Yahuwah. Next are several personal examples that happened to me or my family members and friends. Then I have listed many that are recorded in the books of various ministers who prayed for these people to be delivered. These ministers said that the conditions began right after participating in an occult activity and stopped when they renounced the activity:
* 1 Chronicles
10:13-14 “So Saul died for his transgression which he committed
against Yahuwah, even against the word of Yahuwah, which he kept not, and also
for asking counsel of one that had a familiar spirit, to inquire of it; And
inquired not of Yahuwah: therefore he slew him, and turned the kingdom
unto David the son of Jesse.”
* Once in fun I tried to exercise ‘E.S.P.’ as a book suggested, by trying to communicate with someone through mental telepathy. It did not work, but one night while laying in bed awake, I heard a female disembodied voice say my name twice. I commanded it to shut up in the Lord’s name and it did.
* In ‘fun’ I had
played with a Ouija board, tarot cards, palm reading, horoscopes and divining
rods. Christian friends suspected these were the reasons I had the following
two visions. We cannot always pinpoint the exact causes of all of our attacks.
One morning when I was around 25 I saw a man standing in the hallway outside
the bedroom door. He was doing something with his hands, but I could not tell
what. I felt extreme heaviness in my arms and could not move. I blinked my eyes
several times to make sure I was awake and alert. I thought this man must have
broken in to rob or hurt me, and I was frightened. Then I looked down and saw a
dagger laying on my chest with my hand by the handle. I knew I did not have a
knife in my bed, so I reasoned it must be an imaginary knife to protect me from
what must be an imaginary man. When I looked up, he was gone. Another time
while laying in bed I watched a translucent man walk through the bedroom and
disappear into the wall.
* I already wrote
about the time I was raped by a spirit being after opening the door to this
spirit by watching pornography, and the time a guy I knew was attacked by a
sexual demonic spirit.
* A minister whom I
know said her family was born-again and filled with the Holy Spirit, strong in
the Lord, and went to a Bible believing church. They did not know, however,
that Halloween is an evil holiday. They had a Halloween party in their garage,
decorated with all the usual Halloween decorations- witches, ghosts,
Jack-o-lanterns, etc. After they cleaned up the party remains they began to
hear all kinds of strange noises and rappings in their garage. This went on for
days. They searched for a cause of the noises and could not find anything. Then
they remembered that the noises began right after their Halloween party and
they wondered if they were demons that entered their home. They prayed and
asked Yahuwah to forgive them for having the Halloween party, and prayed over
the garage commanding the demons to leave in Jesus’ name. The noises
immediately stopped and never returned.
They
were blessed to have had a manifestation so soon after the activity that opened
the door. It was easy to connect the two and ask Yahuwah to forgive them. Often
when we open the doors, the demons do like they did to the woman with cancer.
They wait. Most people who have or attend Halloween parties do not hear
rappings afterwards. They are affected in other ways. They have problems in
their lives that are the result of those activities and do not even know they
are caused by their participation in the occult. Many Christians attend
Halloween parties, dress up and decorate their homes with Jack-o-lanterns and
believe they are not really participating in the occult. They believe this
because they do not practice witchcraft or satanism directly. However, doing
these Halloween activities IS a form of participation. It is mocking Yahuwah
and opens the spiritual doors for demons to enter their lives.
* A minister I knew had prayed for hundreds of people to receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues. In several cases the person was not able to speak in tongues, or when they did they had a very limited prayer language of just a few words that they spoke repeatedly, and they could not seem to get a fluent language. He asks people like this to go through a prayer of deliverance from occult participation and almost every time they can speak in tongues afterwards. Occult participation can be a hindrance to the baptism of the Holy Spirit.
One seventy-one-year old man had been seeking this baptism
for fifty-two years. He said people like Oral Roberts, A.A. Allen, R.W.
Schaumbach and anybody who is anybody had prayed for him and he did not receive
it. This guy took him through the prayer of deliverance from occult
participation and he immediately began speaking in tongues, so loudly and
excitedly that the whole church knew he received it! It was not because the
minister had any special power that these other preachers did not have. It was
simply because this man needed to renounce his occult activities and they did
not realize this.
* I mentioned a lady
with cancer in the section about Ouija Boards – she was a thirty-four year old
woman who was dying of cancer. A minister and some others were going door to
door witnessing to people about Yahushuwa and he met her at her house. She
prayed to receive Yahushuwa and then prayed to receive the baptism of the Holy
Spirit, but was unable to speak with tongues. He asked her if she had ever
participated in the occult and she said no. Then he asked her if she ever went
trick-or-treating or played with a Ouija board, etc. She said she played with a
Ouija board ONE time, when she was fifteen years old. She never believed in it
seriously, but did it just for fun. He led her through a simple prayer of
deliverance, commanding any demons to leave her, asking Yahuwah to forgive her
for playing with the Ouija board, and asking Yahuwah to close all doors that
she opened to the evil spirit world by participating in the occult. She then
received the baptism of the Holy Spirit and spoke in tongues and she was also
instantly healed of the cancer, and even obtained medical confirmation from her
doctors. The demon had entered her when she played with the board, but did not
manifest until nineteen years later.
* A man named Tal
Brooke used the Ouija board a few times at age ten. His dad did not mind
because he was an atheist and did not believe in the supernatural. Tal began to
feel a spiritual presence in his bedroom. Then, when he was eleven, one night
his body became paralyzed, he heard this incredible roaring sound and he (his
spirit) took off through the roof (astral projected) and had the sensation of
looking down on his body. He later became involved with the drug LSD and
controlled out of the body experiences. He finally realized that he was
involved with something that was not of Yahuwah when he was in India under a
power guru. (Two-million people went to this guru’s birthday one year.) He
realized the source of the guru’s power was demonic because he had an area of
moral darkness in him that shocked Tal, but it was hidden and he saw it by
Yahuwah’s grace. He realized he was dealing with a demon using a human body
like a glove.
* A man telephoned my
girlfriend and told her to get her dead father off his back as he was
supposedly telling him to marry her. He was involved in a church that ‘talks
with the dead’, with a spiritualist minister. He told her he was going to kill
her and showed up pounding on her apartment door with a gun. He left a note
saying he had denounced Christianity and joined the Church of satan. The
‘minister’ called to warn her that this man went off the deep end and had
threatened other people’s lives also. He was put in a mental hospital for a
short time and then released to walk the streets again.
* There is an actress
who used to be popular when I was younger. She was one of the original
Mouseketeers on the Mickey Mouse Club show, and later played in movies.
She was recently on television in a documentary about her life. For many years
she had multiple sclerosis and was in a wheelchair.
During the show she told about how she went to a fortune teller when she was young and the teller predicted her future. Besides predicting good things, which did in fact happen, she also predicted a serious disease, which also happened. Many people believe this fortune teller accurately predicted her fate, but that is not what really happened. In reality a demon came out from the fortune teller and entered her when she opened herself up to the occult powers, and gave her the disease. It was not that the teller knew she would eventually get this disease and so predicted it accurately. It was the teller that actually gave her the disease with her words and with the demon who entered her.
The
actress had asked in a magazine article for her fans to continue to pray for
her. What she does not realize is that she needs to make sure she has given her
life to Yahushuwa the Messiah and received Him as her personal Lord and Savior,
and then renounce the visit to the fortune teller and any other occult
activities she has participated in. Yahuwah could have healed her if she turned
to Him. But she recently died and I’m pretty sure she never did this. People’s
lives get affected in similar ways every day. It is all unnecessary! We can
have power over the devil if we will just submit to Yahuwah and live according
to His Word.
* Lester Sumrall told the story of a woman who consulted a medium after her husband died, in hopes of communicating with him to find comfort. When a voice broke through the medium and told her things known only previously to her she was convinced that he had returned and talked to her. The medium also told her through this voice to turn over a large amount of money from her estate to the medium, and she was not even suspicious of him.
The spirit encouraged her to get involved in other occult activities and she gladly obeyed. She went to a psychic healer for a back ailment. He waved a wand over her back, said an incantation and pronounced her healed. She had no more back problems but since then she began to suffer from severe depression and unexplainable fear. She heard voices when she was alone, began hallucinating and had a terrifying sense of satanic oppression. She became unable to control her thoughts and words and began to black out, and eventually sought psychiatric help. Her doctor put her in an institution and she became worse. She began seeing visions of monsters and huge insects and tried to commit suicide three times.
A pastor came to see her, rebuked the demons and urged her to renounce her involvement with spiritualism. She did, and was immediately released from her oppression and lived from then on in victory through Yahushuwa. This story shows how the demons often gain a foothold in people’s lives through the occult activities.
Following are short examples without all the details, of how other
people were affected by the occult. These people began having their particular
problems immediately after engaging in the occult activity. People who have
these kinds of problems because of occult participation are healed and
delivered when they repent of and renounce the occult participation. That is
why we are so sure that the problems resulted from the occult participation.
Just refusing to participate in the activity any longer does not cause the
demons to leave. The person has to repent, renounce the activities, pray for
Yahuwah to cleanse them and command the demons to leave in Yahushuwa Name, even
if they become a Christian ‘after’ participating in the occult activity.
* Right after going
to a fortune teller, one man acquired a chronic physical illness; another began
having severe mental problems; a woman, and also a man, became overwhelmed with
lust, and then hate and pride; a girl began hearing disembodied voices; a boy
totally lost his interest in church.
* After playing with a Ouija board one man could not receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit; a girl tried to kill herself.
* After attending
seances or spiritist meetings one man wanted to kill himself and later he
fathered a demon possessed child; another visited one because he was curious
and began suffering from unbearable depression; a minister became a victim to
demonic spirits.
* After learning to
water-witch one man began hearing disembodied voices and seeing ghosts; another
man went insane.
* After having burns or warts treated by charming, one man became severely depressed; a woman became an alcoholic; others have been oppressed by sexual spirits.
* After being
hypnotized to have a baby, a woman became nervous and weak and her mind
deteriorated; a salesman who was hypnotized to stop smoking became a thief and
sexual pervert, and lost his job; a woman who was hypnotized to have a tooth
pulled began having many domestic problems.
* After practicing table-tipping and playing with Ouija boards a boy became a homosexual and had a fear of crowds; a young man became mentally ill after learning to make the table dance; another who practiced table-tipping as a child became mentally ill as an adult (she was immediately sane again after deliverance from this).
* After going to a
palm reader one man, and also a woman, began having terrible domestic problems;
another woman saw ghosts and heard disembodied voices.
* After going to an occult healer one man lost his assurance of salvation and was tormented by it.
* A woman who used to
tell fortunes became psychotic and committed to a mental institution, and no
psychologist or psychiatrist could help her.
* A trained minister
who practiced self-hypnosis, astrology and other occult things backslided, got
divorced and lost his interest in being a believer.
* One involved in magical practices developed chronic asthma, had it for many years, and was immediately healed of it when going through deliverance.
* One involved in
occult practices developed extrasensory powers, and she was set free when she
went through deliverance.
*A couple of girls
played with a Ouija board many times and met some spirits on there, talking to
them for about a year. Then they stopped after they realized it wasn’t a good
idea to do this. But for four years one of the girls kept being harassed by one
of the spirits and it started sexually abusing the girl, making her hit
herself, immobilizing her, and harassing her.
* One child played
with a Ouija board for a while and communicated with a spirit, and then she
stopped after her mother told her not to do that again. But a few years later
they moved into a house and started hearing strange noises like banging,
creaking, doors opening and slamming, a glass dolphin was flung at her – her
sister saw this demon and said it was extremely scary looking.
I’m
going to copy and paste a couple of letters from people who were playing with
Ouija boards, who were writing someone asking for advice or insight. I want to show
these pretty much as they are, although I’ll correct a few grammar problems.
This first letter was
written by a guy in 1998:
“I read your post on
Ouija boards, I will take a few moments to try to explain my situation as
briefly as possible . About 6/7 years ago a friend and myself out of no where
started to experience some very intense psychic happenings. We were feeling and
seeing things that appeared to be human but in my mind I knew somehow they were
not human .When I touched them they were tingly to the touch and when I took a
photograph my assumptions were right they were something else not human. It is
very hard for me to describe what I saw. They were of very odd shapes like very
primitive drawings done by children BUT all the things I was seeing had one
dominate feature they had eyes very large but the eyes were appearing as
circles and other odd shapes, they were all different sizes these things . I
have been looking for some years now trying to figure out what they are as they
are still with me today as I can feel them and the people around me notice a
presence too after I have told them about them . I have used a Oujia and I have gotten some very odd names . (FAXAZ being one of them) as it was the most
powerful one I had encountered on the Oujia. I then met a guy I had never
talked to before and he took some of these names and translated them thru
numerology and what he came up up with disturbed me very much. One
was"evil entities in human disguise" another was a demon from the outer
abyss. Well the human disguise thing came to the conclusion I had always had
that I was right. Another name I keep on encountering is the Nefilim which I
have been reading about extensively and when I saw some pictures of what they
look like in a Zecharia Sitchin book, The 12th Planet, I was
startled they had the exact same type
features of what I have seen in the photo and images I have seen on my carpets
and walls... anyway this story can go on forever. My friend has some serious
problems now physically and emotionally. I almost went into a nervous breakdown
from it, BUT thru the past years I have learned to deal with it, but I quest
for knowing what they are and why they are here because believe me they are
EVERY WHERE, the world is full of them. At the worst times I could smell them.
It almost smelled like ozone, a very bad odor. I can always feel them on my
right hand. I have seen other very physical things and I went thru a lot of
fear . I must tell you I do NOT joke about such things and I am very serious when
I tell you these things because my life has been changed becouse of it. I use
the Oujia only rarely now but it is by myself and I can definetly feel heat on
my shoulders and my top of my back when something enters me. I take the utmost
care in it when I am using the board and I will tell what I am talking to that
it CANNOT harm me and MUST be truthful and will leave mybody when I am done. I
do not believe I have ever encountered a human spirit. I believe it to be this
Nefilim. I had one thing tell me once it was named Jakie Abaravich. She was a
young girl that had died. I even went as far as looking up a name she gave to
me as her fathers name in the phone book, and the numbers for the home address
and phone numbers were bizzare and somehow connected to what was happening to
me. This so called girl came to me before when I was in a half sleep state and
what I saw was what this girl described to me but after a few years I was
looking in a mirror and I could see a very subtle almost invisible image of
this girl in the mirror and I was stunned to see it was not human. It had some
sort of animal form to it. This was suppose to be a spirit that I would wake up
to and I would feel the spirit sleeping next to me. After I saw this I told it
to go away and as far as I know I have not had contact with it since. Also if
this is important at all, me and my friends I have told about this have
experienced when we are asleep, it feels like something is sitting on us and we
can’t get up and can’t breathe. I have taken control of this now and it does
not happen to me anymore but it still ocassionlly happens to a friend of mine .
I must say I am not a Christian and my beliefs tend to be outside of Biblical
teachings. ps thank you for your time and any input on this is HIGHLY appreciated!”
This letter was written by a girl in 1998:
”Hello, My name is Laurie, I'm 12 and in 7th grade. I've had the ouija for a
long time now. And it's been fun. But one time when I was playing it with a
friend, I got someone guy. I asked who he was He said CH, he also said he was
good. I asked him what Ch standed for and he said watch The Exorcist. So I
watched the movie. And CH standed for Captin Howdy. Now, I'm that type of kid
who loves to be scared out of there wits. So I ran back to Ouija and I asked if
CH was still there. He said yes. So I just thought this was a cooled thing. CH
gave me spells to put on people, (I used them and they worked) So one day I
went to Salem, and I went to this palm reader and she said I have a really old
soul. And that my oldest soul was one of the people in Salem who was hanged for
the which craft stuff, Also, that my life before mine got in trouble with the
devil. So that was kinda freaky. That night I played Ouija again, only a little
scared this time. Is was Ch, AGAIN. We talked for a while. Nothing bad
happened, I played every night. But, on Aug 20th, when I was playing and
talking with CH he said, "You have something" He kept saying that
over and over again, then I asked what I had and he said "Something I,
Something I, something I" and kept saying that. Well, it was scarring me
so I put it away and watched a bit of TV, then I went back up to my room to
play again, CH didn't leave, Then all he could say was "Want, want,
want" So after about 15mins of wanting, I asked him what he wanted from me
He said "You're soul" kept repeating that. So about 4 days later when
I was going to have a sleep over at my friends and she asked me to bring Ouija,
So I did. At Midnight we got something. It wasn't CH though, It's went kinda
like this: Me: "Who are you?" Ouija: "Midnight midnight
midnight" Me: "Midnight?" Ouija: "Midnight cat,midnight
cat,midnight cat" Me: "You coming from Hell?" Ouija: "Meet
you there at 12:30, Meet you there at 12:30, Meet you there at12:30" We
put it away until 12:30 and it was CH. Me: "Hello CH" Ouija:
"soul." Me: "yeah okay." Ouija: " I want now" Me:
"sorry, you have to wait till I'm dead" 10 mins pass with nothing.
Ouija: "Now" Then my friends mom called and said it was time to go to
bed. That night when I was lying in my sleeping bag I felt something grab my
feet and growl. I screamed and I wasn't able to go back to sleep so I went back
home. The next night I was opening a can of Tuna and I cut myself really badly.
I ended up in the ER. Also on the way to the ER the ouija was in car and some
blood dripped on it. But I didn't really care because all I could think about
was my finger. After a month I started playing Ouija again, It was Still CH
Ouija: "Mine! "Me: "What do you mean?" Ouija: "You are
mine! "Me: "Okay whatever" Ouija: "remember" Me:
"Remember what?" Ouija: "Drop of blood, drop of blood,
blood" So now being scared and having to go up to bed, I felt the cold
hands grab at my feet and the same growl. Every night, even though I stopped
playing, cold hands grab my feet and I hear the same growl! What should I do?”
The
deliverance from occult participation is not complicated or hard, and does not
have to involve strange things like vomiting into bags, yelling and screaming
or physical violence. It is a prayer, and this prayer can set you free from
things in your life that you do not even realize came from occult
participation!
Many
people are affected because of family members who were involved in the occult.
Deuteronomy
5:8-10
“Thou
shalt not make thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in
heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the waters beneath
the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself unto them, nor serve them: for I
Yahuwah thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the
children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me, And showing
mercy unto thousands of them that love me and keep my commandments.”
If a parent is
involved in witchcraft or other sins, a demon can enter his/her children
because of it. They can receive mercy by loving Yahushuwa and living by His
Word.
Usually
these demons that are attached to people cannot be seen, but sometimes Yahuwah
allows ministers to see them so they know to cast them out. Kenneth Hagin knew
a man who was extremely nervous. He could not even sleep. They were going to
commit him to a mental institution. Hagin saw a demon sitting on the man’s
shoulder and it had its arms tightly wrapped around his head. He told it to
leave in the Lord’s name and it dropped to the floor. The man yelled that it was
gone and said it felt like an iron band snapped off from around his head.118
He
also had a niece who had her female organs operated on for cancer several
times: when she was sixteen, eighteen, and twenty years old. At age twenty-two
it had returned and spread. Hagin was miles away when he commanded the spirit
of cancer to leave and she was totally healed. All of her medical tests proved
to be negative. The cancer was a spirit. My husband James has also commanded a
spirit of cancer to leave at least ten, possibly as many as twenty people, and
all but one of them got healed. The one who didn’t was his brother, and he said
when he commanded it, the family members stared at him in shock and his prayers
were rejected by all of them, not to mention that his brother’s wife kept
giving him so much morphine (she is a nurse) that he believes he died from too
much morphine rather than the cancer.
There
are different kinds of spirits named in the Bible that cause certain diseases. Matthew
12:22 talks about a blind spirit. Mark 9:14-17 mentions a dumb
spirit. Mark 9:18 speaks of a spirit that causes a man to foam at the
mouth, gnash his teeth together, pine away, and that tares at him and makes him
fall on ground with seizures (epilepsy).
Another
way demons can enter people or attack them is when they take ‘familiar objects’
into their homes. Objects that are used in the occult or that represent demonic
things attract demons. Demons inhabit them and usually move into a person who
owns or has the objects. These objects are cursed. Joshua 6:18 tells
us not to have these things or we will become cursed and so will those around
us. “And ye, in any wise keep yourselves from the accursed thing, lest ye make
yourselves accursed, when ye take of the accursed thing, and make the camp of
Israel a curse, and trouble it.” If we have occult related objects with demons
in them, the spirits will try to affect everyone in our households. They will
have a legal right to do this. Yahuwah allows it because we are in disobedience
if we have these things. We only have His protection if we are submitted to Him
and resist the devil.
James
4:6-8 (RNV)
“Moreover He gives more grace. Wherefore He said, "Yahuwah opposes the
proud, moreover gives grace to the humble." Therefore submit to Yahuwah.
Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Come near to Yahuwah and He will
come near to you. Cleanse hands, sinners, and purify hearts, double-minded!”
Joshua
7:11-13
“Israel
hath sinned, and they have also transgressed my covenant which I commanded
them: for they have even taken of the accursed thing, and have also stolen, and
dissembled also, and they have put it even among their own stuff. Therefore the
children of Israel could not stand before their enemies, but turned their backs
before their enemies, because they were accursed: neither will I be with you
any more, except ye destroy the accursed from among you. Up, sanctify the
people, and say, Sanctify yourselves against tomorrow: for thus saith Yahuwah
God of Israel, There is an accursed thing in the midst of thee, O Israel: thou
canst not stand before thine enemies, until ye take away the accursed thing
from among you.”
These people could
not stand against their enemies as long as they had the items that were cursed.
Yahuwah told them to get rid of them. We cannot stand against the wiles of the
devil if we have occult objects inhabited by demons in our homes.
Some
of these kinds of things are: Occult related, sexually suggestive, immoral or
excessively violent movies, games, toys, pictures, books, magazines, figures,
music, dolls, jewelry, wall hangings, etc. I talked about most of these things
earlier in this book. You need to go through your home and get rid of these
things or you will continue to have a door open to the enemy and he will be
able to defeat you in different areas of your life. Some specific examples of
these things are: little Buddha statues, magic dragon statues, skulls, black
candles, pyramids, yin yangs, peace symbols, dream catchers, wizards, crystal
balls, some incense burners and some brands of incense, horse shoes hanging
over the doors, Halloween related items such as Jack-o-lanterns, rabbits’ feet
or any other kind of good luck charms, occult symbols, hagstones, kitchen
witches, any items that were used in the worship of demons, etc.
The rabbit’s foot used as a good luck charm came from the belief in the middle ages that if you obtained a foot from a white rabbit shot at midnight at a cemetery on Halloween, it would bring you good luck. Hagstones are usually worn as jewelry and are made of onyx, crystal or gem. People communicate with demons through them. They rub the stone while speaking an incantation to summon the demon, and then send the spirit to another person with a message. This does not mean that every stone made of onyx, crystal or gem is a hagstone. A fetish, talisman or amulet is an object worn as jewelry, or hung over the doorway, to bring good luck or protection.
This is like a horse
shoe, kitchen witch, rabbit’s foot, dream chasers, etc., hung up or worn to
protect a home or person. Amulets and fetishes are usually used to protect
someone from a particular enemy. A strand of hair or something from the enemy
is often attached to the amulets and fetishes.

Corinthians 10:19-23 “What say I then? that the idol is any thing, or that
which is offered in sacrifice to idols is any thing? But I say, that the things
which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to Yahuwah: and
I would not that ye should have fellowship with devils. Ye cannot drink the cup
of Yahuwah, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of Yahuwah’s table,
and of the table of devils. Do we provoke Yahuwah to jealousy? are we stronger
than he? All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all
things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.”
Yahuwah did not want
the believers eating with the Gentiles when they sacrificed their meat to
devils before they ate it, because it would have been a form of devil
worship, even though the believers were people who loved Yahuwah and did not
consciously worship the devil. We actually open ourselves up to fellowship with
devils if we partake of things used for sacrifice to devils. The meals were
part of celebrations that honored demon gods. They would have been eating with
the people during their sacrificial feasts, which were religious ceremonies
that honored the devil. It would not have been edifying to eat with them during
that type of ceremony, just like it is not edifying for us to participate in
other occult celebrations. Also, the meat acquired demons. Although it was
lawful to go ahead and eat the meat, because they could have prayed over it and
Yahuwah could have blessed it, it was better not to eat it. Eating it was an
act of worship, as part of the celebration. Food is not normally an occult
object and if we pray over it is cleansed. ('Unclean' animals are NOT FOOD by the way, and are not clean even after we pray over them - pork, bacon, shrimp, catfish, etc.) But this verse tells us it is better
not to eat with people who are having fellowship with devils and offering their
food to idols.
What
do you do with the cursed things? Destroy them, so no one else can be snared or
defiled by them.
Deuteronomy
7:25-26
“The
graven images of their gods shall ye burn with fire: thou shalt not desire the
silver or gold that is on them, nor take it unto thee, lest thou be snared
therein: for it is an abomination to Yahuwah thy God. Neither shalt thou bring
an abomination into thine house, lest thou be a cursed thing like it: but thou
shalt utterly detest it, and thou shalt utterly abhor it; for it is a cursed
thing.”
Below is an excerpt
from a letter of someone who burned their Ouija board:
“Sunday night at midnight we set forth to our plans, we soaked it for about half hour or so in charcoal lighter fluid and then at 12 am we set a match to it, first it wouldn't start, then after about 5 minutes of trying, it went, it started to hiss at us then once the four corners started on fire one of the girls went after it and tried to get it out, but was unsuccessful. Once it got to burning to the center of it, a big cloud of black smoke with hands that followed us every time we moved, came out of it. Later we was informed that was basically the breath of satan. After it was completely burned out we buried it, and thought our problems would be over. But they had just begun.
Once inside we could feel an evil presence there all around us, and all upstairs. So we set forth to go up there and anoint things and read the bible verses. Well we managed to chase some out of the house one even turned right before leaving and fingered one of us. Then the girl who tried to save the board was putting her cigerette in the ash tray had her cigerette come up and burn her right under her eye. I started laughing at the two of them because nothing had happened to me yet.
Anyway
I got home around 5 am that day and when I got home I saw shadows on my walls,
so I knew I had the little bastards in my home, excuse the language, so I went
from room to room and said the bible verses out loud said you must leave you
are unwanted here, it seemed to help for a little while, then for the next
couple of days I could hear them and feel them and even saw some of them
between the two homes, then like I was telling you earlier I was sitting back
in the back bedroom on the computer one day and one walked by me and hissed at
me. I was freaked at that point. Then we had an ordained Minister bless my
friends house to see if it worked, which the strong one (spirit) did not want
to go, so I figured no sense in doing my house then, well needless to say right
now at this point I am not feeling or sensing any of them right now I have
re-gained my faith in the Lord almighty above, and was reborn again, going to
church every week and reading the Bible every AM and PM aloud in every room. I
also leave a Bible opened in every room also to ward off evil things. That was
our experience it sounds a little off but it really did happen so now we will
pay all of our lives for playing with it but who would of thought a Parker
Brothers game could do or be so dangerous?”
Other people have
heard screams coming from the fires that they burned their Ouija boards in.
What these kids needed to do after
they burned the thing was to go through the occult deliverance, which will be
explained later. Stopping the occult activity and burning the artifacts is the
first step, but some follow up needs to be done, and then the person can be
free from any further affects. One does not need to pay all of his life for
playing with the occult. Yahushuwa came to set the captives free!
Another
type of familiar object is not something known to be used in demon worship. It
can be anything that an occultist places a curse on and then gives as a gift to
someone they want to harm. They often curse jewelry in this way to cause
someone sickness, family strife, depression, spiritual problems, etc. The
locket that the woman who died in the accident was wearing could have been such
a gift. The note inside of it said the wearer of it belonged to satan. Be
careful who you accept gifts from. If you do not know they are walking with
Yahuwah and suspect they may be involved in some form of witchcraft, do not
accept gifts from them, or do not keep the gifts once you get them. Always pray
over any gifts if you sense something may be wrong. If you receive a gift and it’s not from a
suspicious source, nor is an occult type of item, and you just want bless it
with your prayer, just like you have the authority to bless your food: Exodus
40:9 “And thou shalt take the anointing oil, and anoint the tabernacle,
and all that is therein, and shalt hallow it, and all the vessels thereof: and
it shall be holy.” Some items acquired demons, not by the person who bought
them for you, but by the person who made or sold them. Most gifts do not have
demons attached to them, so I am not trying to make you suspicious of every one
you get, but I just want to make you aware of this possibility. If you are
close to Yahuwah and hear His voice when He speaks, He will warn you if
something is wrong with a non-occult related object. But when it comes to the
occult related objects, the warning is already in His Word, in the Scriptures I
have quoted. So He expects you to listen to them and follow the instructions in
His written Word.
The
Bible forbids any participation in the occult. Here are some verses that let us
know this:
Isaiah 8:19-22 “And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead? To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them. And they shall pass through it, hardly bestead and hungry: and it shall come to pass, that when they shall be hungry, they shall fret themselves, and curse their king and their God, and look upward. And they shall look unto the earth; and behold trouble and darkness, dimness of anguish; and they shall be driven to darkness.”
Jeremiah 27:9-10 “Therefore hearken not ye to your prophets, nor to your diviners, nor to your dreamers, nor to your enchanters, nor to your sorcerers, which speak unto you, saying, Ye shall not serve the king of Babylon: For they prophesy a lie unto you, to remove you far from your land; and that I should drive you out, and ye should perish.”
Leviticus 19:26 “Ye shall not eat any thing with the blood: neither shall ye use enchantment, nor observe times.”
Leviticus 19:31 “Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them: I am Yahuwah your God.”
Leviticus 20:6 “And the soul that turneth after such as have familiar spirits, and after wizards, to go a whoring after them, I will even set my face against that soul, and will cut him off from among his people.”
Isaiah 47:8-14 “Therefore hear now this, thou that art given to pleasures, that dwellest carelessly, that sayest in thine heart, I am, and none else beside me; I shall not sit as a widow, neither shall I know the loss of children: But these two things shall come to thee in a moment in one day, the loss of children, and widowhood: they shall come upon thee in their perfection for the multitude of thy sorceries, and for the great abundance of thine enchantments. For thou hast trusted in thy wickedness: thou hast said, None seeth me. Thy wisdom and thy knowledge, it hath perverted thee; and thou hast said in thine heart, I am, and none else beside me. Therefore shall evil come upon thee; thou shalt not know from whence it riseth: and mischief shall fall upon thee; thou shalt not be able to put it off: and desolation shall come upon thee suddenly, which thou shalt not know. Stand now with thine enchantments, and with the multitude of thy sorceries, wherein thou hast laboured from thy youth; if so be thou shalt be able to profit, if so be thou mayest prevail. Thou art wearied in the multitude of thy counsels. Let now the astrologers, the stargazers, the monthly prognosticators, stand up, and save thee from these things that shall come upon thee. Behold, they shall be as stubble; the fire shall burn them; they shall not deliver themselves from the power of the flame: there shall not be a coal to warm at, nor fire to sit before it.”
Most Christians
believe that because we have the New Testament, and are saved by grace through
faith, that we do not need to pay any
attention to the Old Testament laws, but the New Testament says by faith we
establish the law rather than make it void.
Romans
3:31 to 4:5
“Do
we then make void the law through faith? Yahuwah forbid: yea, we establish the
law. What shall we say then that Abraham our father, as pertaining to the
flesh, hath found? For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to
glory; but not before Yahuwah. For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed
Yahuwah, and it was counted unto him for righteousness. Now to him that worketh
is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. But to him that worketh not,
but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for
righteousness.”
When Abraham was very
old, Yahuwah promised him a son who would be his heir. Because he believed
Yahuwah, He said he was righteous.
Genesis
15:3-6
“And
Abram said, Behold, to me thou hast given no seed: and, lo, one born in my
house is mine heir. And, behold, the word of Yahuwah came unto him, saying,
This shall not be thine heir; but he that shall come forth out of thine own
bowels shall be thine heir. And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now
toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said
unto him, So shall thy seed be. And he believed in Yahuwah; and he counted it
to him for righteousness.”
In
the Old Testament days, Yahuwah said Abraham was righteous because he believed
Yahuwah and acted on His Word or promise. In the New Testament days Yahuwah
says we are righteous because we believe Yahuwah and act on His Word or promise.
The way to be righteous really has not changed. Only the vehicle has changed.
In the Old Testament days the vehicle
for Abraham was to believe Yahuwah would give him the promised son and
obey Yahuwah. In the New Testament and present days our vehicle is to believe
Yahuwah has given us His promised Son Yahushuwa to die in place of us,
for our sins and obey Yahuwah. We are righteous because we believe Yahuwah and
act on His Word or promise by getting born-again, as the Bible instructs us,
and obeying His commandments. Hint – once we
get the free gift of salvation, we must learn to stop sinning and we must start
obeying Yahuwah’s commandments. We must not continue to live in the sins we got
saved from.
Abraham
so trusted Yahuwah that he was willing to lay his promised son on the altar and
draw up his sword to slay him, in obedience to Yahuwah. He knew that Yahuwah
would not let him kill his son, and would provide a different sacrifice (Genesis
22:8 “And Abraham said, My son, Yahuwah will provide himself a lamb for
a burnt offering; so they went both of them together”), because Yahuwah
promised that this son would be the father of many nations. He knew that
Yahuwah would not lie. Besides, Yahuwah has never required human sacrifices. So
he believed Yahuwah, and showed that he believed him by willingly giving up
what Yahuwah told him to, or by obeying Him. The heathens sacrificed their sons
and daughters to their demon gods, but Yahuwah did not have people sacrifice
their children to Him, and He even destroyed heathen nations because of their
abominable practices. Yahuwah did have His people use animal sacrifices because
of the blood covenant He chose to use. Human sacrifices have never in
the history of man been required by Yahuwah. Yahuwah just wanted Abraham to
show his loyalty to Him by being willing to give up his son if it was
required.
Genesis
22:12-13
“And
he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him:
for now I know that thou fearest Yahuwah, seeing thou hast not withheld thy
son, thine only son from me. And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and
behold behind him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: and Abraham went and
took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his son.”
The
question I have is this: Are you willing to give up your most beloved
possession, idea, belief or tradition if Yahuwah tells you to? Are you willing
to believe His Word and act on that belief? If your answer if yes, then begin
by acting on His instructions to give up sin and the unfruitful works of
darkness, which include all occult activities; to stop doing things that appear
evil, even if you do not believe they really are evil; and to begin
concentrating on the things that are good, pure, lovely, of good report, and
virtuous. Through the words written in the Bible, which were directly inspired
by the Holy Spirit, He is telling you to give these things up. Refuse to live
by your own desires anymore, and live by Yahuwah’s desires.
Romans 8:13-14 “For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of Yahuwah, they are the sons of Yahuwah.”
Romans 8:1 “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Messiah Yahushuwa, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.”
Romans 8:5 “For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.” The mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to Yahuwah.
James 4:4 “Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with Yahuwah? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of Yahuwah.”
Romans
8:7-8
“Because
the carnal mind is enmity against Yahuwah: for it is not subject to the law of
Yahuwah, neither indeed can be. So then they that are in the flesh cannot
please Yahuwah.”
Do not be an enemy of
Yahuwah by walking after your own fleshly desires, but subject your self to
Yahuwah’s Word instead.
Satan
cannot get most believers involved in the occult heavily and seriously, but on
Halloween he gets them involved in it underhandedly, and even though it is just
for one day of the year, most of these occult activities are carried out
throughout the rest of the year as well. So he is going to go out of his way to
do as much damage as possible on that one day to infest them with as many
demons as possible and to harm them in any way he can, and get them started on
a path that they will continue all year long. He will harm their minds and ways
of thinking, to desensitize them to the occult, the demonic and the gross. We
should have no part in that, except to stop it.
The artifacts of Halloween are designed to draw people’s interest to occult things and to death. Many stores, such as local grocery or department stores, that sell these items would never consider having a witchcraft and satanism section in their store where they sold black candles, Book of Shadows, Satanic Bible, pentagrams, crystal balls, stone altars, skulls or instruction books on how to skin live cats. But during Halloween season they have a special section devoted to satanism, and scatter it throughout the store as well.
These
items are put in the stores a month or more before Halloween night, so satan
has that much more time to affect people as they walk through the stores and
are exposed to the artifacts, clothing, candy wrapped in ghoulish packages and
all the demons attached to these things. When I walk into such a store to buy
groceries I can feel the oppression all around me. The atmosphere totally
changes. The presence of the principalities and powers of the air can be felt
as they hover over the shoppers and hide in the artifacts.
People
who are not sensitive to the Holy Spirit do not know what this strange feeling
is. They think it is the holiday spirit, which it is, but they do not know it
comes from the presence of demons. The holiday spirit encourages people to
spend lots of money getting ready for the party where they will often
get drunk or high, seduce somebody, or be loud and rowdy with cursing, swearing
and laughing. When it is all over, they often drive home under the influence of
the spirits of alcohol and of satan.
To
many people, Halloween just represents the bad things that were done in
the past. They believe that because they do not actually do the devil
worshiping it is all right to pretend they are doing it, or to make fun
of or light of it. Just because the activities represent an ancient
occult activity or demon worship, does that mean that they do not count? Taking
the Lord’s Supper (the bread and the wine) also known as Holy Communion, represents
taking Yahushuwa’s body and blood that He sacrificed on the cross, and is a
very important activity that believers participate in. It is done on the
Passover. Is it, too, just meaningless because it is just a representation of
the sacrifice made on the cross? Those who have studied the Bible know that it
is not meaningless! In the Scriptures, Yahushuwa himself told us to participate
in this, but the Bible says that those who eat and drink unworthily may become
sick or even die!

Corinthians 11:23-32 “For I have received of Yahushuwa that which also I
delivered unto you, That the Messiah Yahushuwa the same night in which he was
betrayed took bread: And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said,
‘Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of
me.’ After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying,
‘This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it,
in remembrance of me.’ For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup,
ye do show Yahushuwa’s death till he come. Wherefore whosoever shall eat this
bread, and drink this cup of Yahushuwa, unworthily (in an unworthy manner),
shall be guilty of the body and blood of Yahushuwa (liable for His death that
they should instead be proclaiming.) But let a man examine himself, and so let
him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup. For he that eateth and drinketh
unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning
Yahushuwa’s body. For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many
sleep. For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged. But when we
are judged, we are chastened of Yahushuwa, that we should not be condemned with
the world.”
Taking
the Lord’s supper, on Passover, though it is a representation of
partaking of the body and Blood of Yahushuwa, or receiving Him into our lives
as Lord and Savior, is itself an act of worship! Although this is done
in remembrance of Yahushuwa, it is of vital importance that we do it in a
worthy manner. We should not do it if we are without self-examination; if we do
not realize the real presence of Yahushuwa; if we are without contemplation of
the crucified body of Yahushuwa; if there is any form of sin in our life that
has not been repented of. It is of extremeimportance to Yahushuwa, to us and to
our health.
When
we participate in representations of devil worship, we are imitating them.
According to Funk & Wagnalls Standard Desk Dictionary, ‘imitate’ means: “To
behave or attempt to behave in the same way as; follow the example
of; TO MIMIC OR IMPERSONATE; to make a copy or reproduction of; TO HAVE
OR TAKE ON THE APPEARANCE OF” (1 Thessalonians 5:22 “Abstain from
all appearance of evil.”)
One way to imitate is to literally
do the same things. In other words, concerning making our children ‘pass
through the fires’ we would be actually sacrificing our sons and daughters in
the fires. Another way to imitate is to copy the basic actions without actually
sacrificing our children physically, but just pretending to sacrifice them, in
remembrance of the real sacrifices. People in modern days pass their children over
the fires to imitate the sacrifices. And another way to imitate is to just
go through the motions without even pretending to be doing the sacrifice.
Tossing the children over the fires to give them a thrill or scare them, or
letting them jump over the fires themselves, are acts of going through the
motions. They are imitating by taking on the appearance of the sacrifice.
Although they are not physically sacrificing the children, they are sacrificing
them spiritually because their actions open doors for demons to attack them and
bring harm to their lives!
Putting
Jack-o-lanterns outside our homes in October may not be an act of trying to
protect our homes from spirits like they used to do. We may not think of the
lantern as representing a severed head or the source of our power. It may just
be done for fun, because we like the way they look, but it is imitating by
taking on the appearance of what the Celtic people did. Jack-o-lanterns
represent evil and nothing else. There is NO good aspect to them. Putting on a
vampire or witch costume does not mean we are really a vampire or witch, but it
is imitating by taking on the appearance of a vampire or witch. Vampires
and witches have NO good aspects to them either. They represent evil and nothing
else.
Participating
in these demonic activities, though it is only a representation of the
actual demon worship, is an act of worship of the devil, just like taking
communion, although it is only a representation of the actual taking of
Yahushuwa’s body, is an act of worship of Yahuwah. It does not matter if
the person’s heart is not really into the worship. The act still counts in
Yahuwah’s eyes. If someone takes communion just for the fun of it, and his
heart is not right with Yahuwah, Yahuwah gets angry. Yahuwah does not disregard
the act because the person is not really serious about it. That person is in
danger of bringing judgment on himself. The Bible says he may get sick or die.
If his heart is not into it, he should not be doing the act in the first place.
Although Halloween activities are usually just done in ‘fun’, it is important
that we do not do them at all! Study the following Scriptures:
Deuteronomy
18:9-12 “When
thou art come into the land which Yahuwah thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not
learn to do after the abominations of those nations. There shall not be found
among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire,
or that useth divination (fortune teller), or an observer of times
(astrologer), or an enchanter (magician), or a witch, or a charmer (hypnotist),
or a consulter with familiar spirits (spirit guides), or a wizard (clairvoyant
or psychic), or a necromancer (medium who consults the dead). For all that do
these things are an abomination unto Yahuwah: and because of these abominations
Yahuwah thy God doth drive them out from before thee.”
The New International
Version of the Bible version says it like this:
“When you enter the land Yahuwah your God is giving you, do not learn to imitate the detestable ways of the nations there. Let no one be found among you who sacrifices his son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead. Anyone who does these things is detestable to Yahuwah, and because of these detestable practices Yahuwah your God will drive out those nations before you.”
Ezekiel
20:31
“For
when ye offer your gifts, when ye make your sons to pass through the fire, ye
pollute yourselves with all your idols, even unto this day: and shall I be
inquired of by you, O house of Israel? As I live, saith Yahuwah, I will not be
inquired of by you.”
We are polluted or
defiled when we do these things.
Ezekiel
20:26
“And
I polluted them in their own gifts, in that they caused to pass through
the fire all that openeth the womb, that I might make them desolate, to the
end that they might know that I am Yahuwah.”
On
Halloween, people not only ‘pass through the fire’ (my friends and I used to
jump through bonfires not knowing what it represented, during our church
fellowships), but they also play divination games, and imitate witches and
necromancers. Dressing up as a witch on Halloween is just as much an abomination
as passing through the fire, and so is telling peoples fortunes with a crystal
ball in the spook house, and pretending to call up the dead or pretending to be
the dead called up! Doing these things drives us farther away from Yahuwah when
we should be doing things to draw us closer to Yahuwah!
Jeremiah 7:31 "And they have built the high places of Tophet, which is in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to burn their sons and their daughters in the fire; which I commanded them not, neither came it into my heart."
If children could make it through the fire they were allowed to live without further persecution. Parents would have to stand still and emotionless as their child burned alive to the drum beats of the pagan priest in order for Moloch to accept the ‘gift.’
Pumpkins,
black cats, bats and things like that are not evil. Yahuwah made them, but if
you decorate your house at Halloween time with black cats and bats they take on
a very evil appearance. They stand for evil even if they are ‘cute’. If you cut
a face in a pumpkin and put a candle in it, it is no longer just a pumpkin, it
is a Jack-o-lantern and symbolizes the unsettled dead spirit. Halloween is pure
evil. Believers need to stop mixing satanic things with godly things. They are
like oil and water, they do not mix.

Corinthians 6:14-18,7:1 “Be ye not unequally yoked together with
unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and
what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Yahushuwa with
Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement
hath the temple of Yahuwah with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God;
as Yahuwah hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be
their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and
be ye separate, saith Yahuwah, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will
receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and
daughters, saith Yahuwah Almighty. Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved,
let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit,
perfecting holiness in the fear of Yahuwah.”
This passage tells us
to be separate; in other words we are to separate ourselves unto Yahuwah.
When people celebrate Halloween, they separate themselves from Yahuwah.
Most
believers who celebrate it would not dream of celebrating the Black Mass of satanists,
just for fun. How many believers do you know who dress up as witches and the
devil, pretend to torture and crucify a man on a cross, and let children
participate in it too, just for ‘good Christian fun’. Yet that is almost what
they are doing. Halloween is not much different from the Black Mass. You cannot
separate the good from the evil and just celebrate the good. There is no good in
it. It is all about death, the occult, fear and evil spirits. It is a devil’s
holiday totally separate from Christianity, like the Black Mass is. If you have
been celebrating Halloween, you have been celebrating satanism, and you have
opened spiritual doors to the enemy.
The
spiritual doors are open when you have not kept your life cleaned up and have
played around in the occult, and your hedge of protection is not intact. No,
this is not works’ religion! Works’ religion says that you obtain
your salvation by your works or lifestyle. It says if you are good
enough, then you can be saved. The Bible says that you are saved by grace, not
works. Salvation is a free gift that we cannot earn by being good. Grace says that you can be saved even if you are the worst sinner in the
world, but once you are saved you are to go and sin no more.
Now
everybody sins occasionally even after being saved, because we are humans and
are not perfect. Yahushuwa is the only person who was perfect. That is why He
could die for our sins. We make mistakes. When we do, He will forgive us
immediately when we repent. Some of these sins are probably not even counted
against us, because we did not know better and in our heart we wanted to do
right, but we are not to practice sin. Romans 6:11-17 says:
“Likewise
reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto Yahuwah
through Yahushuwa the Messiah our Lord. Let not sin therefore reign in your
mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. Neither yield ye your
members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto
Yahuwah, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments
of righteousness unto Yahuwah. For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye
are not under the law, but under grace. What then? shall we sin, because we are
not under the law, but under grace? Yahuwah forbid. Know ye not, that to whom
ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey;
whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? But Yahuwah be
thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart
that form of doctrine which was delivered you.”
Sin
does not have dominion over us because grace gives us the ability to stop
sinning, so we need to use that grace and stop sinning! It is an act of our
will. Here are the key words that show it is an act of our will: ‘let not’,
‘yield yourselves’, ‘obey’. We are not to sin deliberately and repeatedly. If
we do, we either have never really gave our lives to Yahushuwa, or we have backslid, or we go on sinning because we don't know any better because no one taught us what sin actually is - the violation of Yahuwah's LAW, which is in the Old Testament. We
are not under the man-made laws that the Pharisees made. We are not under the
law of sin and death (if we have our sins cleansed by Yahushuwa). But we are to
obey Yahuwah’s laws. They are for mankind’s benefit.
