Halloween Soup - Chapter Seven - Yahuwah's Feast Days - by Jennifer Lang

CHAPTER SEVEN:
YAHUWAH’S FEAST DAYS
Yahuwah's Holy Days or Feast Days (Passover, Unleavened Bread, Firstfruits, Pentecost, Trumpets, Atonement, Tabernacles)

When it talks about “holy convocations” below, concerning the feast days, the word convocation means a sacred assembly, memorial, and rehearsal. All three of these definitions help us understand exactly why Yahuwah tells His people to celebrate these feasts. They help us remember the things He’s done in the past for His people, and they cause us to rehearse for the future. In rehearsals we practice until we get better and better, but we will be able to get it all right when He returns and guides us in the Millennium period. That’s comforting to me. When I mess up, I get to rehearse again. And these are HOLY days! Being types and shadows does not mean they are not important or required. We, as Yahuwah’s children, are commanded to celebrate and honor them.

We do them in simple ways - by following the Scriptural instructions as best we can, but we don't do the sacrifices. Some people make them into big celebrations. You can search online to learn how different Messianic groups celebrate these feasts. I'm just giving the basics here.

Because there is no temple or priesthood presently, we do not do the sacrifices or offerings to Yahuwah during these feasts. In the Millennium, however, the Bible tells us there will again be animal sacrifices, and they will be done as a remembrance and act of worship.

PESACH OR PASSOVER:

Leviticus 23:4-5 King James Version
4 These are the feasts of Yahuwah, even holy convocations, which ye shall proclaim in their seasons.
5 In the fourteenth day of the first month at even is Yahuwah's passover. (The first Hebrew month is not January, it is in the springtime.)

Following are the instructions for the first Passover, when the Hebrews were slaves in Egypt, and Yahuwah was about to kill all the firstborn of the Egyptians as a plague because they refused to let His people go free.

Exodus 12:1-14 King James Version
1 And Yahuwah spake unto Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt saying,
2 This month shall be unto you the beginning of months: it shall be the first month of the year to you.
3 Speak ye unto all the congregation of Israel, saying, In the tenth day of this month they shall take to them every man a lamb, according to the house of their fathers, a lamb for an house:
4 And if the household be too little for the lamb, let him and his neighbour next unto his house take it according to the number of the souls; every man according to his eating shall make your count for the lamb.
5 Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year: ye shall take it out from the sheep, or from the goats:
6 And ye shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month: and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening.
7 And they shall take of the blood, and strike it on the two side posts and on the upper door post of the houses, wherein they shall eat it.
8 And they shall eat the flesh in that night, roast with fire, and unleavened bread; and with bitter herbs they shall eat it.
9 Eat not of it raw, nor sodden at all with water, but roast with fire; his head with his legs, and with the purtenance thereof.
10 And ye shall let nothing of it remain until the morning; and that which remaineth of it until the morning ye shall burn with fire.
11 And thus shall ye eat it; with your loins girded, your shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and ye shall eat it in haste: it is Yahuwah's passover.
12 For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am Yahuwah.
13 And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt.
14 And this day shall be unto you for a memorial; and ye shall keep it a feast to Yahuwah throughout your generations; ye shall keep it a feast by an ordinance for ever.

Deuteronomy 16:1 King James Version
16 Observe the month of Abib, and keep the passover unto Yahuwah thy God: for in the month of Abib Yahuwah thy God brought thee forth out of Egypt by night.

The Passover is in remembrance of when Yahuwah had the Hebrew slaves in Egypt paint lamb’s blood over their doorposts and it protected them from the destroying angel killing their firstborn children, as it killed the firstborns of the Egyptians as one of the plagues upon them for enslaving Yahuwah’s people. It is prophetic about Yahushuwa who died on the cross on Passover, as our Passover lamb, so that His blood on the doorposts of our hearts would protect us from death and destruction, when we get born-again. He fulfilled this feast day when He was crucified, and we are to observe it every year as a memorial. If you’re not able to keep it on the right day because of illness, etc., a second Passover is permitted 30 days later (see Numbers 9:11).

We also are instructed to teach our children about Passover on this day.

Exodus 12:25-27 King James Version
25 And it shall come to pass, when ye be come to the land which the Lord will give you, according as he hath promised, that ye shall keep this service.
26 And it shall come to pass, when your children shall say unto you, What mean ye by this service?
27 That ye shall say, It is the sacrifice of the Lord's passover, who passed over the houses of the children of Israel in Egypt, when he smote the Egyptians, and delivered our houses. And the people bowed the head and worshipped.

Matthew 26:1-2 King James Version
1 And it came to pass, when Yahushuwa had finished all these sayings, he said unto his disciples,
2 Ye know that after two days is the feast of the passover, and the Son of man is betrayed to be crucified.

Yahushuwa tells us in the verse below to keep the Passover after His death IN REMEMBRANCE OF HIM. 1 Corinthians 10:16 calls it communion. This was Passover, and we are to celebrate it once a year.

1 Corinthians 11:23-25 King James Version
23 For I have received of the Messiah that which also I delivered unto you, that Mashiach Yahushuwa the same night in which he was betrayed took bread:
24 And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.
25 After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, this cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.

‘Testament’ above, #1242 diathÄ“kÄ“ in Strong’s, refers to ‘a will which one makes of his earthly possessions after his death.’ He was making a will and testament of His blood for us, for after His death.

1 Corinthians 5:7-8 King James Version
7 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Yahushuwa our passover is sacrificed for us:
8 Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

Luke 23:44-46 King James Version
44 And it was about the sixth hour (noon), and there was a darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour (3 p.m.)
45 And the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was rent in the midst.
46 And when Yahushuwa had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost.

When Yahushuwa was on the cross and said “why have you forsaken me?” and “It is finished”, those two statements mean something different than you probably have been taught. I’m quoting from another source because they explained it well:

"While hanging on the cross, Jesus was still instructing His disciples. Jesus spoke the words from Psalm 22:1, “My God, my God, why have you abandoned me?”

As a rabbi, Jesus used a teaching tool called a Remez, in which the rabbi quoted a part of scripture, allowing his disciples to recall the rest of that book or passage, therefore applying its significance.

So, as Jesus said the words from Psalm 22:1, He wanted His disciples to recall verses such as:

But I am a worm and not a man. I am scorned and despised by all! Everyone who sees me mocks me… (Psalm 22:6-7 NLT, emphasis added)

My enemies surround me like a pack of dogs; an evil gang closes in on me. They have pierced my hands and feet. I can count all my bones. My enemies stare at me and gloat. They divide my garments among themselves and throw dice for my clothing. (Psalm 22:16-18 NLT, emphasis added)

As they watched their Rabbi and Lord dying on the cross, these verses literally played out before them. Jesus used the Remez to tell them He was the Messiah.

In addition, as Jesus spoke His last words, “It is finished,” the priest yelled from the altar, “It is finished,” to let the people know the sacrifices were done.” – (Stephanie Pavlantos - Bible Study Tools website)

1 Corinthians 5:7 Amplified Bible
…… For Yahushuwa our Passover Lamb has been sacrificed.

1 Peter 1:19 King James Version
19 But with the precious blood of Yahushuwa, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

Here is a good articles explaining the events of the crucifixion. I encourage you to read it to get a deeper understanding of it:

Did Messiah Eat the Passover Before He Died? - Maria Merola

FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD:

Exodus 12:18 King James Version
18 In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month at even, ye shall eat unleavened bread, until the one and twentieth day of the month at even.

The fourteenth day of the first month is Passover, so on Passover we are to begin eating the unleavened bread. The title of Feast of Unleavened Bread begins on the fifteenth day, so it’s eight days altogether that we eat the unleavened bread.

Exodus 12:20 King James Version
20 Ye shall eat nothing leavened; in all your habitations shall ye eat unleavened bread.

Leviticus 23:6-8 King James Version
6 And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the feast of unleavened bread unto Yahuwah: seven days ye must eat unleavened bread.
7 In the first day ye shall have an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein. (EXTRA SABBATH)
8 But ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto Yahuwah seven days: in the seventh day is an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein. (EXTRA SABBATH)

Deuteronomy 16:3-4,8 - King James Version
3 Thou shalt eat no leavened bread with it; seven days shalt thou eat unleavened bread therewith, even the bread of affliction; for thou camest forth out of the land of Egypt in haste: that thou mayest remember the day when thou camest forth out of the land of Egypt all the days of thy life.
4 And there shall be no leavened bread seen with thee in all thy coast seven days;
8 Six days thou shalt eat unleavened bread: and on the seventh day shall be a solemn assembly to Yahuwah thy God: thou shalt do no work therein.

1 Corinthians 5:6-8 Amplified Bible
6 Your boasting [over the supposed spirituality of your church] is not good [indeed, it is vulgar and inappropriate]. Do you not know that [just] a little leaven ferments the whole batch [of dough, just as a little sin corrupts a person or an entire church]?
7 Clean out the old leaven so that you may be a new batch, just as you are, still unleavened. For Yahushuwa our Passover Lamb has been sacrificed.
8 Therefore, let us celebrate the feast, not with old leaven, nor with leaven of vice and malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and [untainted] truth.

The leavening represents sin here. Notice how this is the New Testament instruction, and Paul tells the believers to celebrate the Feast of Unleavened Bread! No leavening is to be used or even kept in the home for the week as a reminder of how the Hebrews left Egypt in a hurry and didn’t have time to leaven their bread. The first and seventh day of this are extra Sabbaths in which no ‘servile’ work is to be done (like working a job for pay). This represents Yahushuwa quickly being put in the tomb in order to get it done before the extra Sabbath arrived (on Thursday, as He was crucified on Passover on Wednesday). He was sinless, so considered ‘unleavened’, and this feast also represents that. Also, removing all of the leavening out of our homes reminds us of how hard it is to remove all sin out of our lives. It’s easy to miss something.

YOM HABIKKURIM OR FEAST OF FIRSTFRUITS:

Leviticus 23:9-11, 14 King James Version
9 And Yahuwah spake unto Moses, saying,
10 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye be come into the land which I give unto you, and shall reap the harvest thereof, then ye shall bring a sheaf of the firstfruits of your harvest unto the priest:
11 And he shall wave the sheaf before Yahuwah, to be accepted for you: on the morrow after the sabbath the priest shall wave it. (FEAST OF FIRSTFRUITS on the first Sunday right after Unleavened Bread)

14 …. it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations in all your dwellings.

It is observed the day after the sabbath that occurs during the Feast. So, it will always be a Saturday evening to the following Sunday evening.

To the Jews this feast celebrated the first fruits of the new year field harvest, but it also celebrates the true day Yahushuwa rose from the dead, NOT Easter Sunday! (He actually rose the day before, on the Sabbath, in the late afternoon, and the women found Him on Sunday morning.)

Jonah 1:17 King James Version
17 Now the Lord had prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonah. And Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.

Matthew 12:40 King James Version
40 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

The key here is that our Messiah was crucified on Passover which fell on a Wednesday that year, and 3 days and 3 nights (72 hours) later, He rose from the dead, NOT on a ‘Good Friday’, but on the Sabbath, Saturday, before sunset.

1 Corinthians 15:20 King James Version
20 But now is Yahushuwa risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.

SHAVUOT OR FEAST OF WEEKS OR PENTECOST:

Leviticus 23:15-21 King James Version
15 And ye shall count unto you from the morrow after the sabbath, from the day that ye brought the sheaf of the wave offering; seven sabbaths shall be complete: (called COUNTING THE OMER – sheaf of grain)
16 Even unto the morrow after the seventh sabbath shall ye number fifty days; and ye shall offer a new meat offering unto Yahuwah.
17 Ye shall bring out of your habitations two wave loaves of two tenth deals; they shall be of fine flour; they shall be baken with leaven; they are the firstfruits unto Yahuwah.
18 And ye shall offer with the bread seven lambs without blemish of the first year, and one young bullock, and two rams: they shall be for a burnt offering unto Yahuwah, with their meat offering, and their drink offerings, even an offering made by fire, of sweet savour unto Yahuwah.
19 Then ye shall sacrifice one kid of the goats for a sin offering, and two lambs of the first year for a sacrifice of peace offerings.
20 And the priest shall wave them with the bread of the firstfruits for a wave offering before Yahuwah, with the two lambs: they shall be holy to Yahuwah for the priest.
21 And ye shall proclaim on the selfsame day, that it may be an holy convocation unto you: ye shall do no servile work therein: it shall be a statute for ever in all your dwellings throughout your generations. (EXTRA SABBATH)

This is to celebrate the second harvest of the fields, 50 days after Firstfruits. It is also said to be the day that Moses gave the Hebrew people the Ten Commandments and the rest of the law. For believers in Messiah it is the day when the Holy Spirit was given to the people in the upper room and they all spoke in unknown tongues and 3,000 Jews responded to Peter’s first proclamation of the gospel.

Numbers 28:26 King James Version
26 Also in the day of the firstfruits, when ye bring a new meat offering unto Yahuwah, after your weeks be out, ye shall have an holy convocation; ye shall do no servile work:

Deuteronomy 16:9-12 King James Version
9 Seven weeks shalt thou number unto thee: begin to number the seven weeks from such time as thou beginnest to put the sickle to the corn. (Called ‘Counting the Omar.)
10 And thou shalt keep the feast of weeks unto Yahuwah thy God with a tribute of a freewill offering of thine hand, which thou shalt give unto Yahuwah thy God, according as Yahuwah thy God hath blessed thee:
11 And thou shalt rejoice before Yahuwah thy God, thou, and thy son, and thy daughter, and thy manservant, and thy maidservant, and the Levite that is within thy gates, and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, that are among you, in the place which Yahuwah thy God hath chosen to place his name there.
12 And thou shalt remember that thou wast a bondman in Egypt: and thou shalt observe and do these statutes.

Acts 2:1-4 King James Version
1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

YOM TERUAH OR FEAST OF TRUMPETS OR DAY OF SHOUTING, ALSO ROSH HASHANAH (Jewish civic new year)

I believe this is the most important feast day for our present time, because it is the day our Mashiach will return for His bride. I’ll explain shortly. Read on.

Leviticus 23:23-25 King James Version
23 And Yahuwah spake unto Moses, saying,

24 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall ye have a sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, an holy convocation. (7th month falls in the autumn, EXTRA SABBATH)
25 Ye shall do no servile work therein: but ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto Yahuwah.

It is a one or two day period, and the beginning of a ten-day period of repentance before Yahuwah, known as the Yamim Nora’im (Days of Awe), leading up to Yom Kippur, the holiest day of the year when all are to make sure they are clean and pure before Him. The trumpet blasts are a wakening call to examine our lives and make sure we repented of our sins and asked forgiveness of any people we have sinned against. A greeting often used by the Jews on this day is “May your name be inscribed in the book of life.” (Notice that the ‘book of life’ is NOT just a New Testament thing. Interesting.) On Yom Teruah the trumpets are blown from morning to evening during this feast. There is a period immediately afterwards called the Ten Days of Awe in which the people are to continue examining themselves for any sin they need to repent of, and then this culminates on Yom Kippur, which I will explain shortly.

Yom Teruah is also called Rosh Hashanah, and the Jews believe it is the day that Yahuwah created the heavens and earth, the day Adam was created, the day that Samuel was born, and the day the first temple was dedicated! Rosh Hashanah means ‘head of the year’, but this would be a civic new year, not the real new year, which is in the springtime. This day is on the beginning of the seventh month on the Hebrew calendar, not the first month, which is in the springtime.

The trumpet blasts also represent the announcing of a king, the new king of Israel, and this is the day Yahushuwa was born, the true King of Israel. There is information to prove this. If you ever want it search online for the book “The Star that Astonished the World” by Ernest L. Martin and you can download the PDF version for free, or order the hardcopy.

It has to do with the Scripture that describes the woman clothed with the sun who is giving birth to a man-child. This is a constellation arrangement and it took place at a certain time. He was born on September 11 in 3 BC, but since our calendar is not exactly like the Hebrew calendar, it doesn’t always fall on September 11 for us in America.

"There are several distinct trumpet blasts to be made during the Feast of Trumpets.

Yom Teruah (Day of Trumpets 2018) Shofar Blast

The Tekiah (a short blast) is calling the people to convocation. The Shevarim (three wails – three tekiah together) is a reminder of the cry from the widow and the orphan, which should move us to help. The Teruah (the staccato blast of several short blasts) is a call to war; reminding us of the conflict we are in and not be complacent. The Tekiah HaGadol (the long blast) is the blast of ‘the Lord’. This is the blast we expect to hear at the resurrection and warning of the Day of ‘the Lord’."– From “A Brief Explanation of Our Calendar and the Biblical Festivals” by az-static.llm.io/2022

In ancient Israel this was the day that the kings were crowned and began their reign. It was the day that Solomon was crowned, and Jehoash (1 Kings 1:34). A shofar was blown and its meaning as “The king is coming and will be crowned today, his government has started.” Then he was anointed with oil and crowned. So Yahushuwa being born on that day, and returning on that day for His bride, fits right in there!

Joel 2:1 King James Version
1 Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of Yahuwah cometh, for it is nigh at hand;

It is also the day He will return for His bride (rapture). Yom Teruah (Feast of Trumpets) is called ‘the day that no man knows’ because it starts on the day the new moon is sighted, and since sometimes the sliver of the moon is hidden by clouds, this feast is given 2 days in case no one was able to see the moon on the first day (it will then be counted on the second day.) That fits with ‘no one will know the day or hour’ when Yahushuwa will return (Matthew 24:36). It is, however, the ancient Jewish custom for the groom to arrive at midnight to get his bride and carry her off when people aren’t expecting him.

Matthew 25:6-7 King James Version
6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.
7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.

1 Corinthians 15:51-54 King James Version
51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, AT THE LAST TRUMP: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. (the dead in Messiah will be raised at this time, not all the dead)
53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

Matthew 24:29-31 King James Version
29 Immediately AFTER THE TRIBULATION of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
31 And he shall send his angels with a great SOUND OF A TRUMPET, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

1 Thessalonians 4:15-17 King James Version
15 For this we say unto you by the word of Yahushuwa, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of Yahushuwa shall not prevent them which are asleep.
16 For Yahushuwa himself shall descend from heaven WITH A SHOUT, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of Yahuwah: and the dead in Yahushuwa shall rise first:
17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet Yahushuwa in the air: and so shall we ever be with Yahushuwa.

Notice how the verses above, which are talking about the rapture, say He will descend “WITH A SHOUT”, and “AT THE LAST TRUMP: for the trumpet shall sound”, and “AFTER THE TRIBULATION”. Here we have three different verses about the rapture that let us know it will be on the Feast of Trumpets which is also called The Day of Shouting, and is the day that the kings were crowned and began their reign, the announcing of a king, the new king of Israel and as I said before, is also called ‘the day that no man knows’. Wow!

“Flavius Josephus was a first-century Romano-Jewish historian and military leader, best known for The Jewish War, who was born in Jerusalem—then part of Roman Judea—to a father of priestly descent and a mother who claimed royal ancestry.” (Wikipedia) He was born in 37 A.D. Yahushuwa was born in September in 3 B.C. and began His ministry in 28 A.D., at 30 years old (taking into account that there is no 0 B.C.) He was crucified on Passover in the springtime in 32 A.D., at about 33 1/2 years old. Josephus was born 5 years after Yahushuwa was crucified. He wrote “The Jewish War” and “Antiquities of the Jews” and was a very trusted historian. “His works are the chief source next to the Bible for the history and antiquity of ancient Palestine, and provide a significant and independent extra-Biblical account of such figures as Pontius Pilate, Herod the Great, John the Baptist, James the Just, and possibly Jesus of Nazareth.” (Wikipedia). That was to give a bit of history on him. He is a trusted historical source.

So, in his book “Antiquities of the Jews” there are footnotes by William Whiston, an English theologian historian who translated the book into English in 1736, that say the year 23 B.C. was a Jubilee year (the 79th one since the creation). With that being so, then the next Jubilee year after that was 28 A.D.
(when adding up the years you don’t count 0 B.C. or A.D. because there was no such thing – also, we’re going by our Gregorian calendar) on Yom Kippur, and that is the day Yahushuwa began His ministry, at 30 years old, when Luke 4:17-19 took place, and that would be the 80th Jubilee. In the Jubilee year all slaves were to be set free and all sales of land were returned to the original owner in the 50th year.

Leviticus 25:9-10 King James Version
9 Then shalt thou cause the trumpet of the jubile to sound on the tenth day of the seventh month, in the day of atonement shall ye make the trumpet sound throughout all your land.
10 And ye shall hallow the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof: it shall be a jubile unto you; and ye shall return every man unto his possession, and ye shall return every man unto his family.

Below is when Yahushuwa began His ministry:

Luke 4:17-19 King James Version
17 And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written,
18 The Spirit of the Yahuwah is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

19 To preach the acceptable year of the Yahuwah.” (This is a Yom Kippur Jubilee year reading.)
20 And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him.

21 And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.
22 And all bare him witness, and wondered at the gracious words which proceeded out of his mouth. And they said, is not this Joseph’s son?
23 And he said unto them, Ye will surely say unto me this proverb, Physician, heal thyself: whatsoever we have heard done in Capernaum, do also here in thy country.

He did not read the rest of the passage, which says:

Isaiah 61:2b-3
2b…and the day of vengeance of Yahuwah, to comfort all that mourn;
3 To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of Yahuwah, that he might be glorified…

The reason He stopped where He did is because the rest of the passage is about His second coming, which will be on Yom Kippur in the 120th Jubilee, in the future, whereas the first part is about Him at the time when He read it, which He proclaimed as a Jubilee on ‘that’ Yom Kippur, when He began His ministry, and was basically letting them know that He is their Messiah, and that ticked them off.

The next Jubilee year, according to the date in Josephus’s book, will be 2028, and will be the 120th Jubilee year, and that equals 6,000 years, meaning it’s time for Messiah to return and start the beginning of the 7,000th year, the Millennium, which lasts 1,000 years, with Him and the saints ruling, and peace on earth finally.

Genesis 6:3 King James Version
3 And Yahuwah said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.

Man’s days being 120 years is referring to the 6,000 years that man lives on earth doing things HIS way, and when that time period is over we have 1,000 years left in which Yahushuwa will rule with His
saints, and do things HIS way. It is 120 Jubilees, which equals 6,000 years (120x50=6,000). He was giving us the timing for His return.

Another confirmation that it will be 2028 is the Parable of the Fig Tree in Matthew 24:32-34. The fig tree is Israel.

Matthew 24:32-34 King James Version
32 Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:
33 So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.
34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.

A generation being 70 or 80 years:

Psalm 90:10 King James Version
10 The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away.

Israel became a nation in 1948, and 80 years from then is 2028!

(UN Resolution No. 181) purposing the fig tree nation, Israel, to be restored as a nation again. Resolution 181 confirmed the 1922 recognition by the international community that the Jewish people deserve their own state, a Jewish state, in their historical homeland. On May 14, 1948, in Tel Aviv, Jewish Agency Chairman David Ben-Gurion proclaims the State of Israel, establishing the first Jewish state in 2,000 years.

70 years would have been 2017 and that is not the Jubilee year, plus it didn’t happen in 2017, so that leaves only 2028 with an 80-year generation, AND the Jubilee. The next Jubilee year is 2078 and there is no way our Messiah is waiting that much longer to return. All the signs of the times are here NOW.

There is another witness to the year 2028 as well. In 2014, two cows were born with the number 7 on their foreheads. THEY WERE BORN FIVE DAYS APART in different states. The first one was born in Loretta, Pennsylvania on September 20th, on Saturday, the Sabbath (and it was the final Sabbath before the Jewish civic new year. The second one was born in Gatesville, Texas. on September 25th, on the Feast of Trumpets. Both were born on significant days, holy days of Yahuwah. And if you add the two 7s you get 14 – in 14 years from that year is the year 2028.

Why make an issue out of these two cows? Aside from the things I just mentioned, there is Scripture about two sets of 7 cows in a dream that Pharaoh had. Let’s look at this:

Genesis 41:17-21 King James Version
17 And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, In my dream, behold, I stood upon the bank of the river:
18 And, behold, there came up out of the river seven kine, fatfleshed and well favoured; and they fed in a meadow:
19 And, behold, seven other kine came up after them, poor and very ill favoured and leanfleshed, such as I never saw in all the land of Egypt for badness:
20 And the lean and the ill favoured kine did eat up the first seven fat kine:
21 And when they had eaten them up, it could not be known that they had eaten them; but they were still ill favoured, as at the beginning. So I awoke.

Here is the interpretation that Joseph gave to Pharoah concerning the dream:

Genesis 41:29-31 King James Version
29 Behold, there come seven years of great plenty throughout all the land of Egypt:
30 And there shall arise after them seven years of famine; and all the plenty shall be forgotten in the land of Egypt; and the famine shall consume the land;
31 And the plenty shall not be known in the land by reason of that famine following; for it shall be very grievous.

The black cow with the fancy number 7 on its face may very well represent the seven healthier, fatter cows in the dream, and represent blessing and abundance in the land, as the cows in Pharaoh’s dream were prophetic of 7 years of abundance. This would be from September of 2014 until September of 2021. Although we had troubles in those years, we did also have a lot of blessings. C19 came on the scene in about February 2019 and things began to get gloomy with all the fear and restrictions that was promoted by the governments around the world. The restrictions caused many people to lose their jobs and businesses and the disease got many people sick and many died, and then the jab came into being and permanently injured and killed thousands upon thousands of people. So things took a turn for the worse before the 7 years was up.

The brown cow with the plain number 7 may represent the seven thin, sickly cows in the dream, and represent removal of blessings, sickness and famine. People have been dropping dead by the thousands now that the jabs have had time to circulate in their bodies, and the boosters have been taken. Healthy athletes are now dropping dead while they are playing the sports, and even children are having heart attacks, heart disease and blood clots. This is very abnormal for children, but has become such a problem that pediatric cardiac centers are being built to treat all of the sick and dying children in. This is especially being noticed and dealt with in 2022. We’ve been advancing towards more and more difficult times and now, in the summer of 2022, experts are saying that there will be famine very soon. We will find out soon enough. It appears that the plagues of Revelation in the Bible are being poured out even now, and I expect the Great Tribulation to begin in the spring of 2025, which is only a little more
than 2 ½ years away (I’m writing this in January of 2023.) The Tribulation is 3 ½ years, not 7 years as many believe. See this blog to better understand this:

Leviticus 25:9-10 New International Version
9 Then have the trumpet sounded everywhere on the tenth day of the seventh month; on the Day of Atonement sound the trumpet throughout your land.
10 Consecrate the fiftieth year and proclaim liberty throughout the land to all its inhabitants. It shall be a jubilee for you; each of you is to return to your family property and to your own clan.

There is speculation, based on Jubilee years and prophecy, that this will happen in the year 2028. I believe this. During the Jubilee of 2028, Yahushuwa will return and put an end to the tribulation, and the earth will revert back to its original owner, which is Yahushuwa. All slaves were set free, and all sales of land were returned to the original owner in the 50th year. It is 2022 presently. We have only a little over five more years (from January 2023 til the fall feasts in 2025)! I’ll leave that right there. I’m not prophesying. I’m looking at the evidence and making an educated opinion. Watch for it.

Now I’m going to take this a bit further. We believe that Donald Trump is going to become president again in 2025. We have believed this for over a year, and it’s interesting that he just announced in November of 2022 that he will run again. There is much evidence that he is the Little Horn in the book of Daniel. See this blog:

by Maria Merola Wold

I’m going to give you a scenario and we can watch and see if it happens. He becomes president again, is sworn in in January 2025, the temple in Jerusalem is rebuilt by this time, and to celebrate, during the week of Passover in the spring of 2025, he stands in the temple and either has a pig roast, or declares himself as Messiah or God, and the Pope is part of this, they together make up the anti-Messiah and false prophet team – and the 3 ½ year tribulation begins on that day, perhaps Passover or Feast of Firstfruits in 2025, because that is 6 months before Yom Kippur, when His second coming should take place in 2028, making the Tribulation’s 3 ½ years. Important events on Yahuwah’s Biblical calendar always seem to take place on one of His feast days. I believe it’d be just like satan to have the abomination of desolation happen on Passover or Firstfruits. Watch for this and see if it happens.

Matthew 24:15-24 King James Version
15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)
16 Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:
17 Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:
18 Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.
19 And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!
20 But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day: (Jen’s note – notice that the Sabbath is not done away with but is being honored in these last days!)
21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.
23 Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Messiah, or there; believe it not.
24 For there shall arise false Messiahs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

I’m thinking that those from Judah who had to flee for protection are the 144,000 from the tribes of Israel – 12,000 from each of the 12 tribes, and they are the ones protected for 3 ½ years even though they are not yet born-again – they are sealed ahead of time and will get born-again before it’s all over. 144,000 is very likely referring to households and not individual people. And where it says they have not been defiled by women and are virgins, it means they haven’t been defiled by the mother harlot church. Read these verses first and then I’ll explain:

Revelation 7:1-4 King James Version
1 And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree.
2 And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea,
3 Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of Yahuwah in their foreheads.
4 And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel.

Revelation 14 King James Version
1 And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father's name written in their foreheads.
2 And I heard a voice from heaven, as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of a great thunder: and I heard the voice of harpers harping with their harps:
3 And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth.
4 These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb.

In verse 4 where it says they weren’t defiled with ‘women’, that word was translated wrong – The Greek word is #1135 in the Strong’s Concordance and means ‘woman’ – singular, not plural. (#1135 gune: goo-nay’ probably from the base of 1096; a woman; especially, a wife: - wife, woman.) And the Greek word for ‘virgins’ is #3933 parthenos: “A virgin; marriageable maiden; a woman who has never had sexual intercourse with a man; a man who has abstained from all uncleanness and whoredom or idolatry; a man who has never had intercourse with a woman.” The actual meaning of this verse is a man who has not committed whoredom or idolatry with the mother harlot church. Below is a link that may shed some light on the 144,000 topic. Check it out and see what you think.

Here is a link to several blogs about Donald Trump and his probable involvement in the Great Tribulation. We will find out when it either does or doesn’t happen this way. It’s good to prepare spiritually, mentally and physically.

On the Feast of Trumpets, at the last trumpet blow, at the end of the tribulation, and before the ten days Yahuwah’s wrath, Yahuwah will gather (rapture) His faithful ones, His bride, the wise virgins, the church of Philadelphia who both have the Messiah Yahushuwa (did not deny His name - are born-again and know the name of their Messiah) AND keep the commandments/law) and have an open door (to the wedding), give them their incorruptible bodies, and have the wedding with them for seven days.

Revelation 3:7-13 King James Version
7 And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth;
8 I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.
9 Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.
10 Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.
11 Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.
12 Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of Yahuwah, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of Yahuwah, and the name of the city of Yahuwah, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from Yahuwah: and I will write upon him my new name.
13 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

It does not appear that Christians will be a part of this rapture, because they do not keep the commandments/law of Yahuwah. Most of them are workers of lawlessness, as they eat pork, catfish, shellfish, etc., do not keep the 7th day Sabbath holy, do not celebrate the feast days of Yahuwah, and instead most of them celebrate the pagan holidays of Christmas and Easter, and some other pagan days as well. There are other laws they don’t even attempt to obey as well.

They may not know any better, but I do not know if that will be an acceptable excuse to Yahuwah or not. I sure wouldn’t want to take the chance that it is not. Plus I do know better, so I don’t even have that option. And you who are reading this book also know better and need to adjust your life accordingly or you may not even make it to heaven at all. It’s not worth it to play Russian Roulette with your salvation.

After ten days (the Ten Days of Awe, between Yom Teruah and Yom Kippur, is when Yahuwah will pour out His wrath on those remaining on the earth, through the bowl judgements – Revelation 16), He will return with His bride/army on white horses on Yom Kippur, to end the Great Tribulation.

Revelation 19:14 King James Version
14 And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.

The foolish virgins (Church of Smyrna), Jews who were sealed, probably the 144,000, had to go through ten more days of tribulation instead of getting taken up before the wrath, because although they faithfully kept His commandments and did not get defiled with the mother harlot church, they did not understand that Yahushuwa is their Messiah, now realize who their Messiah is and are born-again in Him, and He receives them as His bride also. They were marked for His salvation and protected through the tribulation (the woman who fled on the wings of an eagle into the wilderness to be protected and nourished for 3 ½ years in Revelation 12:14-17), and at the end of this time period they finally believe that Yahushuwa is their Messiah. They now have their lamps filled with oil and are ready for the groom, and will be his bride also, with the five wise virgins, and will celebrate the wedding during the Feast of Tabernacles.

Consider the story of Jacob - how he married Leah first and fulfilled the ‘week’ with her, and then the father gave Him Rachel to be his wife also (Genesis 29:27–28.) There are a lot of types and shadows in the Bible, and some believe that this is one of them. We will find out for sure how it plays out when the time comes.

The Millennium period begins shortly after that.

If you want blow a trumpet for Feast of Trumpets, but don't have one, here are some links to shofar's sounding off for this feast day:

YOM KIPPUR OR DAY OF ATONEMENT (also known as ‘face to face’):

Leviticus 23:26-32 King James Version
26 And Yahuwah spake unto Moses, saying,
27 Also on the tenth day of this seventh month there shall be a day of atonement: it shall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall afflict your souls, and offer an offering made by fire unto Yahuwah. (YOM KIPPUR OR DAY OF ATONEMENT)
28 And ye shall do no work in that same day: for it is a day of atonement, to make an atonement for you before Yahuwah your God. (EXTRA SABBATH)
29 For whatsoever soul it be that shall not be afflicted in that same day, he shall be cut off from among his people.
30 And whatsoever soul it be that doeth any work in that same day, the same soul will I destroy from among his people.
31 Ye shall do no manner of work: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations in all your dwellings.
32 It shall be unto you a sabbath of rest, and ye shall afflict your souls: in the ninth day of the month at even, from even unto even, shall ye celebrate your sabbath.

Ten days later, The Day of Atonement, called Yom Kippur, is the holiest day of the year. The Jews repent of all their sins from the previous year. Since believers are already forgiven of their sins, and should repent of any new ones daily, this day isn’t celebrated in quite the same way, but it IS a commanded feast day and we DO celebrate it and take it seriously.

We are told to ‘afflict your souls’ and the most understood meaning is to fast. Afflict is #6031 ‘ana’ in Strong’s Concordance and means oppress, humble, be bowed down, be depressed, be downcast, to make weak, etc. – the main word that keeps being mentioned is humble. Souls is #5315 nepes and has many meanings but the ones that most believe fits best is appetite, desire, passion.

This was the only day that Yahuwah let the High Priest enter the Holy of Holies to meet Him ‘face to face’ (although he couldn’t ‘see’ Yahuwah, he was in His holy presence.) As born-again believers in our Messiah Yahushuwa, our eternal High Priest, we can enter the Holy of Holies spiritually, entering into the tangible presence of Yahuwah, and His love that we feel is the most wonderful and amazing thing in the world! And we can do this any day of the year.

Psalm 16:11 King James Version
11 Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

He gave the blood sacrifice for sins. Two goats were offered on this day – one as a blood sacrifice for the people’s sins, and the other as a scapegoat, which was released into the wilderness to symbolize the people’s sins being carried away forever.

Psalm 103:11-12 King James Version
11 For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him.
12 As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.

This was a yearly event. When the veil in the tabernacle was torn in half during the crucifixion, it symbolized how we no longer have to be separated from the presence of Yahuwah, as He offered Himself as the final sacrifice, and we can now enter the Holy of Holies in a spiritual way, through our Messiah Yahushuwa.

Matthew 27:50-51 King James Version
50 Yahushuwa, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost.
51 And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;

Hebrews 10:19-20 King James Version
19 Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Yahushuwa,
20 By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;

Psalm 35:13 King James Version
13 But as for me, when they were sick, my clothing was sackcloth: I humbled my soul with fasting; and my prayer returned into mine own bosom.

Isaiah 58:3 King James Version
3 Wherefore have we fasted, say they, and thou seest not? wherefore have we afflicted our soul, and thou takest no knowledge? Behold, in the day of your fast ye find pleasure, and exact all your labours.

That verse above shows that afflicting one’s soul has to do with fasting. It’s a somber day spent in fasting and praying, but can end in a joyful celebration. Fasting doesn’t serve the purpose of atoning for our sins, but it’s done because Yahuwah says to do it and it does make us more sensitive to the Holy Spirit and more open to Yahuwah speaking to us.

The ten days between Feast of Trumpets and Day of Atonement are called The Ten Days of Awe, and is the time when Yahuwah’s people are to think about what sins they need forgiveness for and repent of them. They are to dwell on Yahuwah’s holiness. For its’ future meaning, many people believe it is during this time, after the rapture on the Feast of Trumpets, when Yahuwah will pour out His wrath on the inhabitants of the earth with the bowl judgments, and the time when the Church of Smyrna will suffer her ten days of tribulation (Revelation 2:10) before she realizes that Yahushuwa is her Messiah (the five foolish virgins who needed to go get oil for their lamps – they kept the commandments but didn’t have the Messiah, didn't know His true name), and when He comes back with His bride army on the Day of Atonement to stop the war in the tribulation (His second coming – His return), He will accept the rest of His bride, Smyrna, who now believes in the true Messiah and has the oil in her lamp, and bring her to His kingdom as well, and for the next week there will be the wedding celebration for His marriage to His bride during Sukkot.

SUKKOT OR FEAST OF TABERNACLES OR FEAST OF BOOTHS OR FEAST OF INGATHERING (The 8th day is called HoShanah Rabbah – The Great Day of the Feast)

Leviticus 23:33-36, 39-44 King James Version
33 And Yahuwah spake unto Moses, saying,
34 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, The fifteenth day of this seventh month shall be the feast of tabernacles for seven days unto Yahuwah.
35 On the first day shall be an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein. (EXTRA SABBATH)
36 Seven days ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto Yahuwah: on the eighth day shall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto Yahuwah: it is a solemn assembly; and ye shall do no servile work therein.
***
39 Also in the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when ye have gathered in the fruit of the land, ye shall keep a feast unto Yahuwah seven days: on the first day shall be a sabbath, and on the eighth day shall be a sabbath. (EXTRA SABBATHS)
40 And ye shall take you on the first day the boughs of goodly trees, branches of palm trees, and the boughs of thick trees, and willows of the brook; and ye shall rejoice before Yahuwah your God seven days.
41 And ye shall keep it a feast unto Yahuwah seven days in the year. It shall be a statute for ever in your generations: ye shall celebrate it in the seventh month.
42 Ye shall dwell in booths seven days; all that are Israelites born shall dwell in booths:
43 That your generations may know that I made the children of Israel to dwell in booths, when I brought them out of the land of Egypt: I am Yahuwah your God.
44 And Moses declared unto the children of Israel the feasts of Yahuwah.

Deuteronomy 16:13-17 - King James Version
13 Thou shalt observe the feast of tabernacles seven days, after that thou hast gathered in thy corn and thy wine:
14 And thou shalt rejoice in thy feast, thou, and thy son, and thy daughter, and thy manservant, and thy maidservant, and the Levite, the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, that are within thy gates.
15 Seven days shalt thou keep a solemn feast unto Yahuwah thy God in the place which Yahuwah shall choose: because Yahuwah thy God shall bless thee in all thine increase, and in all the works of thine hands, therefore thou shalt surely rejoice.
16 Three times in a year shall all thy males appear before Yahuwah thy God in the place which he shall choose; in the feast of unleavened bread, and in the feast of weeks (Pentecost), and in the feast of tabernacles: and they shall not appear before Yahuwah empty: (bring food and drink – this is the ‘festival that I mentioned earlier – there are three different tithes! They are all from the harvest, and do not require bringing money.)
17 Every man shall give as he is able, according to the blessing of Yahuwah thy God which he hath given thee.

The females can go to the festivals too, and whole families should go, but it is only the males who are required to go. Those who can’t afford to travel or who don’t have a group to fellowship with will usually do these celebrations at their home, and do the best they can with them. This celebration commemorates when the people of Israel wandered in the wilderness for 40 years before any could enter the Promise Land. They lived in temporary dwellings, and when we celebrate it we are to spend some time each day in a temporary dwelling, such as a tent, or sukkah (Hebrew for booth).

Some go camping for the week and celebrate with other families in the woods in tents or cabins. Others make a little ‘dwelling’ (sukkah) in their yard with a sitting area and spend time each day in it eating a meal, or reading, or praying, etc. Sukkot is a very important link to Yahushuwa when He came to tabernacle among us in the flesh and when He returns to us again to have the week-long marriage ceremony with His bride.
It is a fun celebration. There are usually lots of activities for the children, and fun times for the adults as well. My favorite times were when we did it camped out in the woods with a group of fellow believers from the congregation I attended.
The next verses are instructions for Sukkot, and it’s talking about bringing our tithe of food and wine or strong drink if you desire. Remember, this is a ‘festival tithe’, not the tithe that Christians understand a tithe to be:
Deuteronomy 14:23-26 King James Version
23 And thou shalt eat before Yahuwah thy God, in the place which he shall choose to place his name there, the tithe of thy corn, of thy wine, and of thine oil, and the firstlings of thy herds and of thy flocks; that thou mayest learn to fear Yahuwah thy God always.
24 And if the way be too long for thee, so that thou art not able to carry it; or if the place be too far from thee, which Yahuwah thy God shall choose to set his name there, when Yahuwah thy God hath blessed thee:
25 Then shalt thou turn it into money, and bind up the money in thine hand, and shalt go unto the place which Yahuwah thy God shall choose:
26 And thou shalt bestow that money for whatsoever thy soul lusteth after, for oxen, or for sheep, or for wine, or for strong drink, or for whatsoever thy soul desireth: and thou shalt eat there before Yahuwah thy God, and thou shalt rejoice, thou, and thine household,…
Notice that the tithe is food and drink, and even includes strong drink (which would be stronger than wine) – it’s a celebration of the harvest, which includes fruits and the drinks they make from them.

1 Corinthians 5:11 King James Version
11 But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolator, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.
Yahushuwa ate with drunks, but they were unsaved, and not ‘brothers or sisters’ yet.

Ephesians 5:18 King James Version
18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;
Sometimes when believers get filled with the Holy Spirit they get so happy that they act like they’re drunk, being a bit unsteady on their feet, laughing and feeling happy. On the first Pentecost, when they received the baptism of the Holy Spirit, onlookers thought they may be drunk because of the way they acted. In modern times many believers have a very similar experience.

Proverbs 23:21 King James Version
21 For the drunkard and the glutton shall come to poverty: and drowsiness shall clothe a man with rags.

The Scriptures do not say it’s a sin to drink alcoholic beverages – that comes from twisting Scriptures. They say it’s sin to be a drunkard. In fact, they say to drink alcohol at times for your health, and they say to do it in moderation (“And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess”.)

1 Timothy 5:23 King James Version
23 Drink no longer water, but use a little wine for thy stomach's sake and thine often infirmities. (meaning don’t drink ONLY water, but also a little wine.)

Why would one need wine for their ‘stomach’s sake’? Well, if the water has bad bacteria or funguses in it, the alcohol in wine will kill them and prevent dysentery. Some people who travel overseas will drink only wine because the water is polluted in many places, and it does prevent them from getting sick!

In John 2 Yahushuwa turned water into wine at a wedding, for celebratory purposes. So, it’s not just permitted for health purposes.

Then what about verses like this one?

Proverbs 20:1 King James Version
1 Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise.

It says you can bring wine or strong drink to the Feast of Tabernacles. The key is to not drink so much that you are drunk and disorderly (a drunkard), or to where you become addicted to alcohol and cannot control yourself with it – cannot stop drinking it – an alcoholic. If you are an alcoholic, it’s best to not drink at all. If that is a weakness in you, why tempt yourself to fall? Just don’t drink it. But if you have no bad issues with it, the Scriptures permit you to drink it for health and also for celebrations.

This next verse even shows that Yahushuwa drank wine:

Luke 7:33-35 King James Version
33 For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine; and ye say, He hath a devil.
34 The Son of man is come eating and drinking; and ye say, Behold a gluttonous man, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners!
35 But wisdom is justified of all her children.

Verse 33 is plainly talking about eating bread and drinking WINE, and the next line is talking about the same, and that some accused Him of being a winebibber, indicating that He was, in fact, drinking wine! Some of you are probably about to flip your lid at this point because your pastor told you that drinking wine is a sin! But the Scriptures tell you otherwise, so who are you going to believe? Some of you were taught that their wine didn’t have any alcohol content. That is absurd. Of course it had alcohol content. It was wine and strong drink.

Now this one tells you when NOT to drink wine or strong drink!

Leviticus 10:9 King James Version
9 Do not drink wine nor strong drink, thou, nor thy sons with thee, when ye go into the tabernacle of the congregation, lest ye die: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations:

Sounds like when the temple is in existence and operation, people better not drink alcohol when they go into it! But look at this next one:

Proverbs 31:4-7 King James Version
4 It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine; nor for princes strong drink:
5 Lest they drink, and forget the law, and pervert the judgment of any of the afflicted.
6 Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish, and wine unto those that be of heavy hearts.
7 Let him drink, and forget his poverty, and remember his misery no more.

Remember that song (which is actually a Scripture) that goes “to everything turn, turn, turn, there is a season turn, turn, turn, and a time for every purpose under heaven.” – a time to (this) and a time to (that)……. Well, there is a time to drink wine and strong drink, and a time not to, and Feast of Tabernacles is one of those times when it is allowed!

We do all of these feasts very simply because we haven’t had much money to do anything otherwise, and of course without the sacrifices and offerings, and they are all pleasant. They are not laws that no man can keep. It amazes us that Christians go all out celebrating holidays of man, and several which are pagan, yet they say it’s too hard to celebrate Yahuwah’s feast days. Here is a Bible for the lawless people:

Let’s talk about a very important law of Yahuwah’s that most Christians fail to keep, even though it’s one of the Ten Commandments. It is the fourth commandment:

Exodus 20:8-12 - King James Version
8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of Yahuwah thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
11 For in six days Yahuwah made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore Yahuwah blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it. (made it holy)
12 Moreover also I gave them my sabbaths, to be a sign between me and them, that they might know that I am Yahuwah that sanctify them.

Christians make up the most ridiculous excuses for violating this commandment. They’ll claim that:

1. ‘Jesus’ is their Sabbath now and they rest in Him, and has replaced the 4th commandment and made it spiritual instead of a day to rest, and there are only 9 instead of 10 commandments now,

2. or that everyday is the Sabbath, which is really stupid because the commandment is to work for 6 days and rest on the 7th day, so if it were EVERYDAY, WHEN would we get any work done?!

3. or that it was changed to Sunday because they believe Sunday is ‘the Lord’s Day’, explaining that He rose from the dead on that day so now it’s the Lord’s Day and replaces the Sabbath, even though the Bible says He is the Lord of the Sabbath, making it obvious that the Sabbath is ‘the Lord’s Day’.

The 7th day Sabbath is a sign between Yahuwah and His people (believers) to show others that He is our Father and we are His people. The main thing about it is that we refrain from doing any work from sunset Friday until sunset Saturday, and devote the day to Him rather than our earthly responsibilities and pleasures. It’s a day of rest, feasting and worship. And He says in Exodus 31 that those who refuse to honor it are worthy of death and are cut off from His people!

Exodus 31:13-14 King James Version
13 Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily my sabbaths ye shall keep: for it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am Yahuwah that doth sanctify you.
14 Ye shall keep the sabbath therefore; for it is holy unto you: every one that defileth it shall surely be put to death: for whosoever doeth any work therein, that soul shall be cut off from among his people.

That shows you how important His Sabbath is to Him, yet most Christians forget about it and defile it every week because they insist that after our Messiah rose from the dead, that the law was done away with, including the Sabbath.

I will address a few verses here in the New Testament that many mistakenly insist show that the law was done away with, and more of them on the page about keeping Yahuwah’s law.

Here is one of them. I’m specifically referring to verses 16 and 17 but included 14 and 15 to make a point.

Colossians 2:14-17 King James Version
14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body (is) of Yahushuwa ha Mashiach. (‘is’ is not in the original text!)

In this verse Paul is actually saying the opposite of what most Christians are taught to believe. They think it justifies celebrating pagan holidays and eating unclean meats (16-17), etc., and for not keeping Yahuwah’s feast days, and not to let believers judge you for that. But this was for new converts who came out of the cult called the Essenes, telling them to not let those cult leaders judge them for keeping Yahuwah’s Sabbaths, feast days, and dietary instructions, and only allow the body of Mashiach to judge concerning these things. (Believers are allowed to judge among each other to help each other make sure they’re doing things right.)

Although the Essenes observed the Law, they shunned Temple worship and kept to themselves, deliberately lived in poverty, many were celibate. They didn’t believe in resurrected bodies. Some groups of them didn’t believe in eating meat. When groups of them got born-again, their people were judging the new converts for the way they kept the Law in Leviticus, because it wasn’t the way their sect did it. The new converts obeyed the laws in Leviticus – the Essenes obeyed some of them but had their own rules that did not fit with Yahuwah’s rules. Even verse 14 shows us that it is referring to man-made laws, NOT Yahuwah’s laws, as the actual meaning of the word ‘ordinances’ there is ‘a man-made dogma or decree.’

More of this Scripture shows it is referring to man-made dogma, not Yahuwah’s laws:

Colossians 2:20-22 King James Version
20 Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances,
21 (Touch not; taste not; handle not;
22 Which all are to perish with the using;) after the commandments and doctrines of men?

You have to know about the history and customs of this period to figure this out, and unfortunately, the translators didn’t bother to put the explanation in there – not even in the footnotes! So, for hundreds of years, it gets taken out of context and used to justify doing the wrong things.

Yahuwah and Paul never called the pagan days ‘holydays’ – only ‘Yahuwah’s feast days are called ‘holydays’, and Yahuwah’s people are instructed to watch for when the ‘new moon’ comes each month, as each month on the Hebrew calendar starts on the new moon. When the people came out of these cult movements and started obeying Yahuwah’s instructions, the Essenes started harassing them for it, and Paul was telling them not to accept judgment for that.

In this verse that is used out of context to justify breaking Yahuwah’s laws (I mentioned it a bit earlier),

Colossians 2:14 King James Version
14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

…the actual meaning of the word ‘ordinances’ here is ‘a man-made dogma or decree.’ Yahuwah’s laws are not against us and they’re certainly not nailed to the cross! Man-made religious laws that were added to Yahuwah’s law are. Look at the following verses. They make it obvious that Yahuwah’s law is for us and not against us!

Psalm 19:7-8 King James Version
7 The law of Yahuwah is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of Yahuwah is sure, making wise the simple.
8 The statutes of Yahuwah are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of Yahuwah is pure, enlightening the eyes.

Psalm 119:1 King James Version
1 Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of Yahuwah.

Romans 7:12 King James Version
12 Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good.

Romans 7:22 King James Version
22 For I delight in the law of Yahuwah after the inward man.

Proverbs 29:18 King James Version
18 Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.

It is the man-made dogma or laws that are against us. Some of the Jewish leaders made their own laws to add to Yahuwah’s laws, and they were harmful to the believers. One of their laws kept new converts from going into the temple to hear the Torah (teachings/law) to learn how to live for Yahuwah.

Here is another verse similar to Colossians 2:14 that mentions the ‘ordinances’ again, and is also referring to man-made dogma or laws, which included a wall that the Jewish leaders (the Sanhedrin) made around the outer court to keep the gentiles from entering the temple.

Ephesians 2:11-15 King James Version
11 Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands; (uncircumcision was a term used for the Gentiles, and circumcision was a term used to refer to the Israelites.)
12 That at that time ye were without Yahushuwa, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without Yahuwah in the world:
13 But now in Mashiach Yahushuwa ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Yahushuwa.
14 For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;
15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;

So again, that is a verse that is used out of context to justify breaking Yahuwah’s law, when it doesn’t mean that at all. It was the man-made dogma, commandments, ordinances, that He abolished in His flesh, not Yahuwah’s laws. People actually believed they had to keep those man-made laws, and many today still do, but Yahushuwah did not promote that idea.

Another thing that He freed us from is enslavement to sin. Sin is bondage and controlled us. His grace gives us the supernatural power to overcome the urge to sin, so we are no longer slaves to sin, and can be forgiven for the ones we do slip up and commit, when we repent, and therefore be free from the law of sin and death, which is “the wages of sin is death” (Romans 8:2).

Romans 8:2 King James Version
2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Mashiach Yahushuwa hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

It would be understandable to think that the law of sin and death was nailed to the cross. However, if we deliberately live in sin (transgress His laws), then we place ourselves back under the law of sin and death, because un-repented sin is punishable by death (separation from Yahuwah, in the lake of fire).

Hebrews 10:26-27 - King James Version
26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

Instead of having to die for our sins, we can repent of them, and be forgiven because of our Messiah dying for our sins, taking our place, so yes, He freed us from the law of sin and death. We do have to repent though – this is not a ticket to heaven if we continue to sin and refuse to repent. Anytime we realize that we have sinned, we should run to our Father and admit our sin and ask His forgiveness, and don’t run out and do that sin again! But if we do it again, don’t feel too guilty to repent again – He is very merciful and quick to forgive!

1 John 2:1 King James Version
1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Yahushuwa ha Mashiach the righteous:

Grace doesn’t cover willful unrepented repeated sin. It empowers us to stop the sinning, to stop letting sin control or enslave us.

Romans 6:6 King James Version
6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. (We would no longer be enslaved to sin.)

Romans 6:17-18 King James Version
17 But Yahuwah be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.
18 Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.

Romans 14 (below), is also used by Christians to support not following the dietary laws or holy days including the Sabbath. Their understanding of this chapter tends to be “People who keep the Sabbath and eat kosher are weak in faith, but the strong in faith treat every day alike and eat anything.” It’s understandable if you just have this one chapter and not the rest of the Scriptures which say the opposite, but it is far from the truth.

Romans 14 King James Version
1 Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations.
2 For one believeth that he may eat all things: another, who is weak, eateth herbs. (Paul does not mean literally ALL THINGS – it is about vegetarianism versus eating meat.)
3 Let not him that eateth despise him that eateth not; and let not him which eateth not judge him that eateth: for Yahuwah hath received him.
4 Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for Yahuwah is able to make him stand.
5 One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.
6 He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto Yahuwah; and he that regardeth not the day, to Yahuwah he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to Yahuwah, for he giveth Yahuwah thanks; and he that eateth not, to Yahuwah he eateth not, and giveth Yahuwah thanks.
7 For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself.
8 For whether we live, we live unto Yahuwah; and whether we die, we die unto Yahuwah: whether we live therefore, or die, we are Yahuwah.
9 For to this end Yahushuwa both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living.
10 But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Yahushuwa.
11 For it is written, As I live, saith Yahushuwa, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to Yahuwah.
12 So then every one of us shall give account of himself to Yahuwah.
13 Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother's way.
14 I know, and am persuaded by Mashiach Yahushuwa, that there is nothing unclean of itself: but to him that esteemeth any thing to be unclean, to him it is unclean. (Here it’s talking about meat that may have been offered to idols before being sold in the market – that it’s not unclean.)
15 But if thy brother be grieved with thy meat, now walkest thou not charitably. Destroy not him with thy meat, for whom Mashiach died.
16 Let not then your good be evil spoken of:
17 For the kingdom of Yahuwah is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.
18 For he that in these things serveth Mashiach is acceptable to Yahuwah, and approved of men.
19 Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another.
20 For meat destroy not the work of Yahuwah. All things indeed are pure; but it is evil for that man who eateth with offence.
21 It is good neither to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor any thing whereby thy brother stumbleth, or is offended, or is made weak.
22 Hast thou faith? have it to thyself before Yahuwah. Happy is he that condemneth not himself in that thing which he alloweth.
23 And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.

Verse 5 where it says “…Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind” on the surface sounds like one can ‘will’ away the laws/commandments of Yahuwah, but this is NOT the case. It is talking about vegetarianism and whether to honor certain pagan days or not, and has nothing to do with condoning unclean meats or not honoring Yahuwah’s holy days. Some of these people were fasting meats on certain days of the week, and that is what “one man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike” is referring to! It has nothing to do with Yahuwah’s Sabbaths and feast days! The pagan culture they lived in honored certain pagan gods on certain days, and were even superstitious about doing certain things on certain days. Though the believers were learning to come out of the paganism, a lot of it still influenced them.

Yahushuwa’s teachings which are written in our New Testament are to help us understand better how to properly keep His commandments from the Old Testament, because the Pharisees kept writing their own man-made laws and trying to impose them on the people, and those laws are burdensome and many are ridiculous. Also, the leaders of the cults had man-made laws that they convinced the people to keep.

When Yahushuwa picked grain on the Sabbath and they accused Him of breaking the Sabbath, He was showing us that it is okay to get something to eat on the Sabbath, not starve because the Pharisees related this to harvesting. It’s not like He was out behind a plow harvesting the field, which would be work. The Bible says His commandments are a pleasure to keep. The Pharisees laws were a burden to keep.

Matthew 24:20 King James Version
20 But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:

That, my friends, is a future, end-time event being addressed, which shows us the Sabbath law is still in effect when the tribulation begins!

Acts 13:42-44 King James Version
42 And when the Jews were gone out of the synagogue, the Gentiles besought that these words might be preached to them the next sabbath.
43 Now when the congregation was broken up, many of the Jews and religious proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas: who, speaking to them, persuaded them to continue in the grace of Yahuwah.
44 And the next sabbath day came almost the whole city together to hear the word of Yahuwah.

The above verse in Acts shows us that the Gentiles attended the meetings in the synagogues on the Sabbath to learn the rest of the Torah (instructions, law.)

Acts 17:2 - King James Version
2 And Paul, as his manner was, went in unto them, and three sabbath days reasoned with them out of the scriptures, (Note – the only Scriptures they had was the law and the prophets – no New Testament – he was teaching the Gentile converts out of the Old Testament!)

Acts 18:4 - King James Version
4 And he reasoned in the synagogue every sabbath, and persuaded the Jews and the Greeks.

Let’s take a quick look at what holiness is all about. (I go more into that topic in the section about holiness.)

Hebrews 12:14 King James Version
14 Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see Yahuwah:

1 Thessalonians 4:7-8 King James Version
7 For Yahuwah hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness.
8 He therefore that despiseth, despiseth not man, but Yahuwah, who hath also given unto us his holy Spirit.

Yahuwah did not call us to uncleanness, but to holiness. Therefore he who rejects this does not reject man, but Yahuwah,

Romans 12:1 King James Version
1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of Yahuwah, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto Yahuwah, which is your reasonable service.

Notice that the next verse says “it is written” – this is referring to the Old Testament. So where is it written? Where does it say “be ye holy, for I am holy” and what is it referring to?

1 Peter 1:14-17 King James Version
14 As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:
15 But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;
16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.
17 And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man's work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear:

How about here? (my comments are in parentheses):

Leviticus 19:1-3 King James Version
1 And Yahuwah spake unto Moses, saying,
2 Speak unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, and say unto them, Ye shall be holy: for I Yahuwah your God am holy.
3 Ye shall fear every man his mother, and his father, and keep my sabbaths: I am Yahuwah your God. (It’s referring to respecting parents and keeping the Sabbaths!)

IT STARTS RIGHT OUT WITH THE COMMANDMENT TO KEEP THE SABBATH – IN ORDER TO BE YE HOLY. SABBATH KEEPING IS PART OF BEING HOLY AS YAHUWAH IS HOLY – right after instructing to respect our parents. Then it starts listing other parts of His commandments that we are to keep. You can go read the rest on your own if you want to.

It actually says “throughout your generations.” That means it never ends! I will explain in more detail about the Sabbath shortly, since it’s the one that is a sign that shows that we are Yahuwah’s people. There are also extra Sabbaths that go with the feast days. And by the way, it is in the New Testament as well, and I’ll cover that since many Christians ministers insist it’s not in there and therefore, they insist it’s not still relevant (because they believe the Old Testament was done away with – except for the verses on blessings and money – they will use those for their own gain.)

One former pastor went as far as to tell us there are only nine commandments now, because the Sabbath was done away with! This is complete nonsense! The Ten Commandments are still valid, and so are the rest of the laws, as you are learning.

Every 7th day, sunset Friday to sunset Saturday is Yahuwah’s Sabbath, and we do not work on that day. We try to have a feast (a good meal), and we often sing and/or read the Bible part of that time. We rest on that day, not doing laundry, building, cleaning, etc. The Sabbath is to be devoted to Him, not doing our own pleasure, but concentrating on Him.

It is not a law that people cannot keep. It is pleasant. Make it pleasant for your children – don’t be so staunch that it’s a burden to them. Follow the dietary laws, and that is easy and pleasant. We eat turkey or beef bacon, turkey ham, fake crab meat made from acceptable fish, etc. We don’t worship other gods, falsely accuse our neighbors, commit adultery, have illicit sex, steal, covet other people’s things, kick canes from blind people, remove property markers, and other things that the Bible instructs us to do and to not do. Why is that so hard for so many?

Matthew 5:48 - King James Version
48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

Since He is telling us this, that shows that He expects us to try to achieve this. Correcting our mistakes as we learn them is a good thing. It does not stop me from entering His rest. It makes it easier to enter into His rest. We don’t have to be ‘perfect’ in order to get to heaven, but from Matthew 5:48 we can see that He expects us to make the effort to do things the way He wants us to.

Exodus 20:8-12 King James Version

Some Christians will say “The Sabbath is EVERY DAY with Jesus” – but the commandments say to work 6 days of the week! If we did Sabbath every day we’d never get any work done. We’d be disobeying verse 9 above! People are always trying to CHANGE Yahuwah’s instructions to suit themselves. Just do them!

This verse in Hebrews 4 that talks about entering His rest as having to do with keeping His 7th day Sabbath is not just about the spiritual rest we get by being with Him. It has to do with honoring a certain day, not just any day and not every day, and at the end it says we cease from our works as Yahuwah did His – and how did He do it? He did it by resting on the 7th day of the week, and He commands us to do the same. The last verse here mentions that those who don’t do this as He did, are acting in unbelief. That means if we truly believe Him – have faith in Him - we do what He says – do the actions that prove it. We’ll look at that verse shortly.

Check this verse out. In the KJV it uses the word believeth both times, but it wasn’t translated correctly, because it actually has a different meaning the second time it is used, as ‘believeth not’.

John 3:36 King James Version
36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of Yahuwah abideth on him.

The first ‘believeth’ is #G4100 in Strong’s Concordance, from ‘pisteuo’ which means to think to be true, to be persuaded of, to credit, place confidence in of the thing believed, in a moral or religious reference, to trust in Jesus or God as able to aid either in obtaining or in doing something….

And ‘believeth not’ is #G544 in Strong’s Concordance, from #G545 ‘apeitheo’, which means to disbelieve (wilfully and perversely):—not believe, disobedient, obey not, unbelieving.

So the King James Version did not translate it clearly enough, but the English Standard Version did:

John 3:36 English Standard Version
36 Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of Yahuwah remains on him.

Notice how the term ‘believeth’ has to do with obedience as well – just as I said, obedience is PART of faith – they go together – “I will show you faith BY my works.” (James 2:18) – “Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone” (James 2:17)

Hebrews 4:1-11 King James Version
1 Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.
2 For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.
3 For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.
4 For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And Yahuwah did rest the seventh day from all his works.
5 And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest.
6 Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief: - (referring to not entering the Promised Land after Moses led them out of Egypt.)

Oops! Let’s take a tiny break here and see what the word ‘unbelief’ means in the original language! In the Strong’s Concordance it is #G543 ‘apeitheia’, which means obstinacy, obstinate opposition to the divine will, rebellious, disobedience, unbelief. So again, it wasn’t just a simple thing of not believing something, but a rebellious act of disobedience that caused them to not enter into His rest – the Promised Land. Not honoring the 7th day Sabbath is because of a rebellious act of disobedience in most cases and Scripture elsewhere says we will be cut off as His people if we do not honor it.

7 Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, Today, after so long a time; as it is said, Today if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts. (He limited the 7th day – just because the word ‘today’ is written here does not mean the Sabbath has changed to ‘today’ as some insist! Today is the day of salvation according to 2 Corinthians 6:2, and one should never put it off, as we have no guarantee that we will be alive tomorrow, and salvation brings the peace of Yahushuwa and lets us rest in Him, but this does NOT cancel out the command to keep the Sabbath day holy as the Word instructs, nor does it change it in any way.)

8 For if Yahushuwa (this refers to Joshua, son of Nun, who had the same name) had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.

The American Standard Version words verse 8 in a clearer way “For if Joshua had given them rest, he would not have spoken afterward of another day.” (This means that Joshua did not lead Israel into the true rest, because a rest still remains, and that rest comes in the Millennium, the 7,000th year time period after our 6,000 years is finished.)

9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of Yahuwah.
10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as Yahuwah did from his.
11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief (rebellious act of disobedience.)

Notice that it says he who enters His rest has ALSO ceased from his own works AS YAHUWAH DID FROM HIS. How did Yahuwah cease from His works? Verse 4 “And Yahuwah did rest the seventh day from all his works.” This is not complicated, but people twist this one all over the place to try and make it say it’s only talking about the spiritual rest ‘in Him’ and that the Sabbath commandment is not mentioned In the New Testament or is done away with. There IS a spiritual rest in Him, but this ‘rest’ that we are to enter into is like a Promised Land – the Millennium which is coming up very soon, and is the 7th millennium since creation, and is considered a thousand-year Sabbath period. Spending eternity in the New Jerusalem, after the Millennium, is also going to be a ‘rest’. But turning this section of Scripture into an escape from honoring His 7th day Sabbath is ridiculous!

The thing is, there is NO Scripture that says if something isn’t mentioned in the New Testament, then it’s done away with. Yet some ministries will teach that, like the Church of Christ teach that since praising Yahuwah with instruments is only mentioned in the Old Testament, then we are not allowed to use them now. How stupid! Of course we can use instruments in the New Testament days. But this Sabbath commandment IS mentioned in the New Testament.

Look at how important Sabbath observance is to Yahuwah, and before you spout off “That’s Old Testament!” you should know by now, if you’ve read my book from the start, that the Old Testament is just as valid as the New, is not done away with, and is not insignificant, and yes, I know that I’ve posted this verse already!:

Exodus 31:13-18 King James Version
13 Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily my sabbaths ye shall keep: for it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am Yahuwah that doth sanctify you.
14 Ye shall keep the sabbath therefore; for it is holy unto you: every one that defileth it shall surely be put to death: for whosoever doeth any work therein, that soul shall be cut off from among his people.
15 Six days may work be done; but in the seventh is the sabbath of rest, holy to Yahuwah: whosoever doeth any work in the sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death.
16 Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant.
17 It is a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days Yahuwah made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed.
18 And he gave unto Moses, when he had made an end of communing with him upon mount Sinai, two tables of testimony, tables of stone, written with the finger of Yahuwah.

When we get born-again, we are adopted into the family of Israel, grafted into the olive tree which represents Israel. This is not just for the Jews. We are all considered children of Israel.

I’m going to put a group of Scriptures in here that will help you learn about the Sabbath and how we should honor it. If I have comments, I’ll put them in parenthesis. These are to give you direction on how Yahuwah wants you to keep His Sabbath day holy. You can then study out the topic on your own if you decide to obey one of the most important commandments in the law.

Genesis 2:2-4 King James Version
2 And on the seventh day Yahuwah ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.
3 And Yahuwah blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which Yahuwah created and made.
4 These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that Yahuwah made the earth and the heavens,

Exodus 16:23-31 King James Version
23 And he said unto them, This is that which Yahuwah hath said, Tomorrow is the rest of the holy sabbath unto Yahuwah: bake that which ye will bake to day, and seethe that ye will seethe; and that which remaineth over lay up for you to be kept until the morning.
24 And they laid it up till the morning, as Moses bade: and it did not stink, neither was there any worm therein.
25 And Moses said, Eat that to day; for to day is a sabbath unto Yahuwah: to day ye shall not find it in the field.
26 Six days ye shall gather it; but on the seventh day, which is the sabbath, in it there shall be none.
27 And it came to pass, that there went out some of the people on the seventh day for to gather, and they found none.
28 And Yahuwah said unto Moses, How long refuse ye to keep my commandments and my laws?
29 See, for that Yahuwah hath given you the sabbath, therefore he giveth you on the sixth day the bread of two days; abide ye every man in his place, let no man go out of his place on the seventh day.
30 So the people rested on the seventh day.
31 And the house of Israel called the name thereof Manna: and it was like coriander seed, white; and the taste of it was like wafers made with honey.

Exodus 35:3 King James Version
3 Ye shall kindle no fire throughout your habitations upon the sabbath day.

Deuteronomy 5:14 King James Version
14 But the seventh day is the sabbath of Yahuwah thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, nor thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thine ox, nor thine ass, nor any of thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates; that thy manservant and thy maidservant may rest as well as thou.

Nehemiah 13:15-19 King James Version
15 In those days saw I in Judah some treading wine presses on the sabbath, and bringing in sheaves, and lading asses; as also wine, grapes, and figs, and all manner of burdens, which they brought into Jerusalem on the sabbath day: and I testified against them in the day wherein they sold victuals.
16 There dwelt men of Tyre also therein, which brought fish, and all manner of ware, and sold on the sabbath unto the children of Judah, and in Jerusalem.
17 Then I contended with the nobles of Judah, and said unto them, What evil thing is this that ye do, and profane the sabbath day?
18 Did not your fathers thus, and did not Yahuwah bring all this evil upon us, and upon this city? yet ye bring more wrath upon Israel by profaning the sabbath.
19 And it came to pass, that when the gates of Jerusalem began to be dark before the sabbath, I commanded that the gates should be shut, and charged that they should not be opened till after the sabbath: and some of my servants set I at the gates, that there should no burden be brought in on the sabbath day.

Isaiah 56:2 King James Version
2 Blessed is the man that doeth this, and the son of man that layeth hold on it; that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and keepeth his hand from doing any evil.

Isaiah 58:13-14 King James Version
13 If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of Yahuwah, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words:
14 Then shalt thou delight thyself in Yahuwah; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of Yahuwah hath spoken it.

Isaiah 66:23 King James Version
23 And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith Yahuwah.

Jeremiah 17:21-22 King James Version
21 Thus saith Yahuwah; Take heed to yourselves, and bear no burden on the sabbath day, nor bring it in by the gates of Jerusalem;
22 Neither carry forth a burden out of your houses on the sabbath day, neither do ye any work, but hallow ye the sabbath day, as I commanded your fathers.

Ezekiel 20:12 King James Version
12 Moreover also I gave them my sabbaths, to be a sign between me and them, that they might know that I am Yahuwah that sanctify them.

Ezekiel 22:8 King James Version
8 Thou hast despised mine holy things, and hast profaned my sabbaths.

Ezekiel 22:26 King James Version
26 Her priests have violated my law, and have profaned mine holy things: they have put no difference between the holy and profane, neither have they shewed difference between the unclean and the clean, and have hid their eyes from my sabbaths, and I am profaned among them.

Matthew 12:1-13 King James Version
1 At that time Yahushuwa went on the sabbath day through the corn; and his disciples were an hungred, and began to pluck the ears of corn and to eat.
2 But when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto him, Behold, thy disciples do that which is not lawful to do upon the sabbath day.
3 But he said unto them, Have ye not read what David did, when he was an hungred, and they that were with him;
4 How he entered into the house of Yahuwah, and did eat the shewbread, which was not lawful for him to eat, neither for them which were with him, but only for the priests?
5 Or have ye not read in the law, how that on the sabbath days the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are blameless?
6 But I say unto you, That in this place is one greater than the temple.
7 But if ye had known what this meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless.
8 For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day.
9 And when he was departed thence, he went into their synagogue:
10 And, behold, there was a man which had his hand withered. And they asked him, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath days? that they might accuse him.
11 And he said unto them, What man shall there be among you, that shall have one sheep, and if it fall into a pit on the sabbath day, will he not lay hold on it, and lift it out?
12 How much then is a man better than a sheep? Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days.
13 Then saith he to the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it forth; and it was restored whole, like as the other. (Note: Yahushuwa never violated His Sabbath – He showed us how to keep it properly.)

Below is a verse where many mistakenly believe Yahushuwa broke the Sabbath. According to the Pharisees He broke it, because He broke their man-made additions to the law. But He is Lord of the Sabbath, the Creator who created the Sabbath, and everything He did on the Sabbath was lawful. In this verse, He helps us better understand what is in fact lawful to do on the Sabbath!

John 5:1-19 King James Version
1 After this there was a feast of the Jews; and Yahushuwa went up to Jerusalem.
2 Now there is at Jerusalem by the sheep market a pool, which is called in the Hebrew tongue Bethesda, having five porches.
3 In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk, of blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the water.
4 For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had.
5 And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years.
6 When Yahushuwa saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole?
7 The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.
8 Yahushuwa saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk.
9 And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath.
10 The Jews therefore said unto him that was cured, It is the sabbath day: it is not lawful for thee to carry thy bed.
11 He answered them, He that made me whole, the same said unto me, Take up thy bed, and walk.
12 Then asked they him, What man is that which said unto thee, Take up thy bed, and walk?
16 And therefore did the Jews persecute Yahushuwa, and sought to slay him, because he had done these things on the sabbath day.
17 But Yahushuwa answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work.
18 Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that Yahuwah was his Father, making himself equal with Yahuwah.
19 Then answered Yahushuwa and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.

For one thing, the type of ‘work’ He did on this Sabbath was to heal someone, showing us that it is alright to heal someone on the Sabbath. The word work in this verse also refers to ministerial work, and to doing ‘good’. Matthew 12:12 says it is good to do good on the Sabbath. The man who was healed had his bed with him, so it was okay for him to carry it back home. The Pharisees did not think so, but Yahushuwa lets us know it was okay, since He’s the one who told him to do it. Thirdly, He let them (and us) know that He is equal with Yahuwah. He and Yahuwah are one God, as He is Yahuwah who came in the flesh. And fourthly, He let them know that if He was ‘breaking’ the Sabbath law, then Yahuwah our Creator was breaking the Sabbath law, and they all knew that Yahuwah does NOT break any of His laws.

Mark 1:21 King James Version
21 And they went into Capernaum; and straightway on the sabbath day he entered into the synagogue, and taught.

Mark 2:23-28 King James Version
23 And it came to pass, that he went through the corn fields on the sabbath day; and his disciples began, as they went, to pluck the ears of corn.
24 And the Pharisees said unto him, Behold, why do they on the sabbath day that which is not lawful?
25 And he said unto them, Have ye never read what David did, when he had need, and was an hungred, he, and they that were with him?
26 How he went into the house of Yahuwah in the days of Abiathar the high priest, and did eat the shewbread, which is not lawful to eat but for the priests, and gave also to them which were with him?
27 And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath:
28 Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath. (That doesn’t mean that He ‘changed’ the Sabbath, it means that He ‘created’ the Sabbath and made it for mankind to honor and keep holy! And being that He is Lord of the Sabbath, that shows that it is ‘The Lord’s Day’ – NOT SUNDAY! )

Mark 3:2-4 King James Version
2 And they watched him, whether he would heal him on the sabbath day; that they might accuse him.
3 And he saith unto the man which had the withered hand, Stand forth.
4 And he saith unto them, Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath days, or to do evil? to save life, or to kill? But they held their peace.

Mark 6:2 King James Version

14 And the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because that Yahushuwa had healed on the sabbath day, and said unto the people, There are six days in which men ought to work: in them therefore come and be healed, and not on the sabbath day.
15 Yahushuwa then answered him, and said, Thou hypocrite, doth not each one of you on the sabbath loose his ox or his ass from the stall, and lead him away to watering?
16 And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan hath bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the sabbath day?

Luke 23:54 King James Version
54 And that day was the preparation, and the sabbath drew on.

John 5:9 King James Version
9 And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath.

John 7:22-23 King James Version
22 Moses therefore gave unto you circumcision; (not because it is of Moses, but of the fathers;) and ye on the sabbath day circumcise a man.
23 If a man on the sabbath day receive circumcision, that the law of Moses should not be broken; are ye angry at me, because I have made a man every whit whole on the sabbath day?

John 9:14 King James Version
14 And it was the sabbath day when Yahushuwa made the clay, and opened his eyes.

John 9:16 King James Version
16 Therefore said some of the Pharisees, This man is not of Yahuwah, because he keepeth not the sabbath day. Others said, How can a man that is a sinner do such miracles? And there was a division among them.

Acts 13:42 King James Version
42 And when the Jews were gone out of the synagogue, the Gentiles besought that these words might be preached to them the next sabbath.

Acts 13:44 King James Version
44 And the next sabbath day came almost the whole city together to hear the word of Yahuwah.

Acts 15:21 King James Version
21 For Moses of old time hath in every city them that preach him, being read in the synagogues every sabbath day.

Acts 18:4 King James Version
4 And he reasoned in the synagogue every sabbath, and persuaded the Jews and the Greeks.

Most Christians think that the Sabbath changed to Sunday because they believe Yahushuwa rose from the dead on Sunday morning. First of all, there is absolutely NO SCRIPTURE that says it changed to Sunday! That is purely a man-made tradition made by rebellious men who do not want us keeping Yahuwah’s Sabbath! Secondly, He didn’t raise up on Sunday, He rose up on the Sabbath, just before it ended on Saturday evening, as Sunday morning was about to be (near sunset on Saturday.) The ladies found the empty grave on Sunday morning. Thirdly, “The Lord’s Day” is NEVER said in Scripture to mean Sunday. But our Mashiach said that He is the Lord of the Sabbath, and that would make the Sabbath “The Lord’s Day.” Fourthly, again, remember that not one jot or tittle is removed from the law until heaven and earth pass away, so NO, the Sabbath was not obliterated so that Sunday could take over and be the Lord’s Day.

Now, I’m including quotes from first the Catholic writings, and then some Protestant’s writings, that clear up some of the misunderstanding about the Sabbath, that Yahuwah never changed it, but man did, (and mankind doesn’t have the right to change ANYTHING of Yahuwah!). Here we go! Hang on!

Roman Catholic Confessions

James Cardinal Gibbons, The Faith of our Fathers, 88th ed., pp. 89.
"But you may read the Bible from Genesis to Revelation, and you will not find a single line authorizing the sanctification of Sunday. The Scriptures enforce the religious observance of Saturday, a day which we never sanctify."

Catholic Record of London, Ontyario September 1, 1923
"Sunday is our (the Vatican's) mark of authority... the church is above the Bible and this transference of Sabbath (7th day) observance is proof of that fact"

Stephen Keenan, A Doctrinal Catechism 3rd ed., p. 174.
"Question: Have you any other way of proving that the Church has power to institute festivals of precept?
"Answer: Had she not such power, she could not have done that in which all modern religionists agree with her-she could not have substituted the observance of Sunday, the first day of the week, for the observance of Saturday, the seventh day, a change for which there is no Scriptural authority."

Daniel Ferres, ed., Manual of Christian Doctrine (1916), p.67.
"Question: How prove you that the Church hath power to command feasts and holy days?
"Answer. By the very act of changing the Sabbath into Sunday, which Protestants allow of, and therefore they fondly contradict themselves, by keeping Sunday strictly, and breaking most other feasts commanded by the same Church.'

James Cardinal Gibbons, Archbishop of Baltimore (1877-1921), in a signed letter.
"Is Saturday the seventh day according to the Bible and the Ten Commandments? I answer yes. Is Sunday the first day of the week and did the Church change the seventh day -Saturday - for Sunday, the first day? I answer yes . Did Christ change the day'? I answer no!
"Faithfully yours, J. Card. Gibbons"

The Catholic Mirror, official publication of James Cardinal Gibbons, Sept. 23, 1893.
"The Catholic Church, . . . by virtue of her divine mission, changed the day from Saturday to Sunday."

Peter Geiermann, C.S.S.R., The Converts Catechism of Catholic Doctrine (1957), p. 50.
"Question: Which is the Sabbath day?
"Answer: Saturday is the Sabbath day.
"Question: Why do we observe Sunday instead of Saturday?
"Answer. We observe Sunday instead of Saturday because the Catholic Church transferred the solemnity from Saturday to Sunday."

Peter R. Kraemer, Catholic Church Extension Society (1975),Chicago, Illinois.
"Regarding the change from the observance of the Jewish Sabbath to the Christian Sunday, I wish to draw your attention to the facts:
"1) That Protestants, who accept the Bible as the only rule of faith and religion, should by all means go back to the observance of the Sabbath. The fact that they do not, but on the contrary observe the Sunday, stultifies them in the eyes of every thinking man.
"2) We Catholics do not accept the Bible as the only rule of faith. Besides the Bible we have the living Church, the authority of the Church, as a rule to guide us. We say, this Church, instituted by Christ to teach and guide man through life, has the right to change the ceremonial laws of the Old Testament and hence, we accept her change of the Sabbath to Sunday. We frankly say, yes, the Church made this change, made this law, as she made many other laws, for instance, the Friday abstinence, the unmarried priesthood, the laws concerning mixed marriages, the regulation of Catholic marriages and a thousand other laws.
"It is always somewhat laughable, to see the Protestant churches, in pulpit and legislation, demand the observance of Sunday, of which there is nothing in their Bible."

T. Enright, C.S.S.R., in a lecture at Hartford, Kansas, Feb. 18,1884.
"I have repeatedly offered $1,000 to anyone who can prove to me from the Bible alone that I am bound to keep Sunday holy. There is no such law in the Bible. It is a law of the holy Catholic Church alone. The Bible says, 'Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy.' The Catholic Church says: 'No. By my divine power I abolish the Sabbath day and command you to keep holy the first day of the week.' And lo! The entire civilized world bows down in a reverent obedience to the command of the holy Catholic Church."

Anglican/Episcopal

Canon Eyton, The Ten Commandments , pp. 52, 63, 65.
"There is no word, no hint, in the New Testament about abstaining from work on Sunday .... into the rest of Sunday no divine law enters.... The observance of Ash Wednesday or Lent stands exactly on the same footing as the observance of Sunday."

Baptist

Dr. Edward T. Hiscox, a paper read before a New York ministers' conference, Nov. 13, 1893, reported in New York Examiner , Nov.16, 1893.
"There was and is a commandment to keep holy the Sabbath day, but that Sabbath day was not Sunday. It will be said, however, and with some show of triumph, that the Sabbath was transferred from the seventh to the first day of the week .... Where can the record of such a transaction be found? Not in the New Testament absolutely not.

"To me it seems unaccountable that Jesus, during three years' intercourse with His disciples, often conversing with them upon the Sabbath question . . . never alluded to any transference of the day; also, that during forty days of His resurrection life, no such thing was intimated.

"Of course, I quite well know that Sunday did come into use in early Christian history . . . . But what a pity it comes branded with the mark of paganism, and christened with the name of the sun god, adopted and sanctioned by the papal apostasy, and bequeathed as a sacred legacy to Protestantism!"

Congregationalist

Dr. R. W. Dale, The Ten Commandments (New York: Eaton & Mains), p. 127-129.
" . . . it is quite clear that however rigidly or devotedly we may spend Sunday, we are not keeping the Sabbath - . . 'The Sabbath was founded on a specific Divine command. We can plead no such command for the obligation to observe Sunday .... There is not a single sentence in the New Testament to suggest that we incur any penalty by violating the supposed sanctity of Sunday."

Disciples of Christ

Alexander Campbell, The Christian Baptist, Feb. 2, 1824,vol. 1. no. 7, p. 164.
"'But,' say some, 'it was changed from the seventh to the first day.' Where? when? and by whom? No man can tell. No; it never was changed, nor could it be, unless creation was to be gone through again: for the reason assigned must be changed before the observance, or respect to the reason, can be changed! It is all old wives' fables to talk of the change of the Sabbath from the seventh to the first day. If it be changed, it was that august personage changed it who changes times and laws ex officio - I think his name is Doctor Antichrist.'

Lutheran

The Sunday Problem , a study book of the United Lutheran Church (1923), p. 36.
"We have seen how gradually the impression of the Jewish sabbath faded from the mind of the Christian Church, and how completely the newer thought underlying the observance of the first day took possession of the church. We have seen that the Christians of the first three centuries never confused one with the other, but for a time celebrated both."

Augsburg Confession of Faith art. 28; written by Melanchthon, approved by Martin Luther, 1530; as published in The Book of Concord of the Evangelical Lutheran Church Henry Jacobs, ed. (1 91 1), p. 63.
"They [Roman Catholics] refer to the Sabbath Day, as having been changed into the Lord's Day, contrary to the Decalogue, as it seems. Neither is there any example whereof they make more than concerning the changing of the Sabbath Day. Great, say they, is the power of the Church, since it has dispensed with one of the Ten Commandments!"

Dr. Augustus Neander, The History of the Christian Religion and Church Henry John Rose, tr. (1843), p. 186.
"The festival of Sunday, like all other festivals, was always only a human ordinance, and it was far from the intentions of the apostles to establish a Divine command in this respect, far from them, and from the early apostolic Church, to transfer the laws of the Sabbath to Sunday."

John Theodore Mueller, Sabbath or Sunday , pp. 15, 16.
"But they err in teaching that Sunday has taken the place of the Old Testament Sabbath and therefore must be kept as the seventh day had to be kept by the children of Israel .... These churches err in their teaching, for Scripture has in no way ordained the first day of the week in place of the Sabbath. There is simply no law in the New Testament to that effect."

Methodist

Harris Franklin Rall, Christian Advocate, July 2, 1942, p.26.
"Take the matter of Sunday. There are indications in the New Testament as to how the church came to keep the first day of the week as its day of worship, but there is no passage telling Christians to keep that day, or to transfer the Jewish Sabbath to that day."

John Wesley, The Works of the Rev. John Wesley, A.M., John Emory, ed. (New York: Eaton & Mains), Sermon 25,vol. 1, p. 221.
"But, the moral law contained in the ten commandments, and enforced by the prophets, he [Christ] did not take away. It was not the design of his coming to revoke any part of this. This is a law which never can be broken .... Every part of this law must remain in force upon all mankind, and in all ages; as not depending either on time or place, or any other circumstances liable to change, but on the nature of God and the nature of man, and their unchangeable relation to each other."

Dwight L. Moody
D. L. Moody, Weighed and Wanting (Fleming H. Revell Co.: New York), pp. 47, 48.
The Sabbath was binding in Eden, and it has been in force ever since. This fourth commandment begins with the word 'remember,' showing that the Sabbath already existed when God Wrote the law on the tables of stone at Sinai. How can men claim that this one commandment has been done away with when they will admit that the other nine are still binding?"

Presbyterian

T. C. Blake, D.D., Theology Condensed, pp.474, 475.
"The Sabbath is a part of the decalogue - the Ten Commandments. This alone forever settles the question as to the perpetuity of the institution . . . . Until, therefore, it can be shown that the whole moral law has been repealed, the Sabbath will stand . . . . The teaching of Christ confirms the perpetuity of the Sabbath."

All of this shows that the Catholics decided they have the right to change things in the Bible, and they admit to ‘changing’ the Sabbath day to Sunday. By the way, they also took it upon themselves to ‘change’ the day Yahushuwa died from Passover to Good Friday, rose from the dead from Sabbath right before Firstfruits to Easter, and the day He was born from Feast of Trumpets to December 25th. (In Yahuwah’s eyes NOTHING has changed and they are fools to believe it has, but unfortunately most Christians are foolish enough to believe they have changed and to follow the changes instead of the Scriptures!) Now look at what the Scriptures say about WHO changes days and times!

Daniel 7:25 King James Version
25 And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.

Daniel 7:25 Amplified Bible, Classic Edition
And he shall speak words against the Most High [God] and shall wear out the saints of the Most High and think to change the time [of sacred feasts and holy days] and the law; and the saints shall be given into his hand for a time, two times, and half a time [three and one-half years].

If you look up these verses and read the before and afters, to see the context, you will see that it’s the anti-Messiah people who change days and times – and when you look at history, you see that it’s the Catholic church that’s been changing days and times – so do you see a connection there? We believe the Catholic church is the great mother harlot church. Keepers of the 7th day Sabbath were burned at the stake for refusing to honor Sunday instead.

Are you worn out yet – tired of following the lies of the anti-Messiah? Are you ready to start obeying Yahuwah’s commandments/laws and following His instructions instead of those of the lying scribes, the Pharisees, the Catholics, the others who sought to change days and times and laws – the lawless ones?

2 Timothy 3:16-17 - King James Version
16 All scripture is given by inspiration of Yahuwah, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
17 That the man of Yahuwah may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

As I said before, this was written by Paul in about 60 A.D., and he was referring to the Old Testament being used for all these things. There was no New Testament yet. It didn’t go into print until about 96 A.D. when John was on the Ilse of Patmos!

I believe that those who do not even try to refrain from work on the Sabbath (like try very much to adjust their hours at work or even find another job if it’s possible to get the Sabbath off), or to keep the other obvious commandments, will not go in the rapture (which is at the end of the tribulation), and maybe not even to heaven. Why do I say this? Because the Sabbath is one of the first holy days to be instituted, during creation, and is one of the Ten Commandments, and is the one that is a sign showing that we are Yahuwah’s people, and one that He says we’re worthy of death if we don’t keep it, and are cut off from His people if we don’t keep it. How would someone who is cut off from His people go in a rapture with His people? How would someone who is worthy of death get to have eternal life?

If a person tries but is unable to get the Sabbath off at their job, they could change over to a simpler and less expensive lifestyle and home, and then get a lesser paying job that will accommodate the Sabbath. They could sell their fancy expensive toys, get a smaller home, a used car instead of a new one, eat hamburger and chicken thighs more often instead of steak, eat out less often and go to a buffet instead of an expensive restaurant when they do, stop buying designer clothing or a pair of shoes for each outfit, wear some used clothing instead of new everything. Get my point oh spoiled people?

Luke 9:23 - King James Version
23 And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.

There are mansions and riches waiting for us in heaven. How about ‘be patient’!

1 John 3:4 King James Version
4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.

Think about it – sin is transgression of the law (refusing to obey the law). The Sabbath is part of the law, and a very important and basic part of it. If we don’t keep the Sabbath day holy, by not working on that day and following His instructions for that day, then we are living in sin. Sinners cannot go to heaven. It’s only after they repent of sin and are cleansed by His blood that they are considered righteous and worthy of living in His presence. If we willfully sin after receiving the knowledge of the truth then He’s going to judge us (Hebrews 10:26-27). Our Mashiach is coming back for a bride without spot or wrinkle. (Ephesians 5:27) One living in sin doesn’t qualify as His bride.

Most Christians do not keep the 7th day Sabbath (nor many other of His laws that apply to them), even after you explain to them about it, and therefore are living in sin. Eating bacon, pork chops, ham, lobster, shrimp, crab, catfish, cats, dogs, worms, snakes, etc., is all sin. Celebrating pagan holidays like Christmas and Easter, and attributing them to Yahushuwa is sin. He says He won’t share His glory. Most Christians refuse to stop these sins even after it is explained to them and they are shown the Scriptures.

Isaiah 42:8 King James Version
8 I am Yahuwah: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.

Refusing to honor His holy days, feast days, is sin because He tells us to honor them.

Do you want to go to heaven? Or do you want to go to hell? It’s your choice!
